The American wilderness association is a national,non-profit,non-political organization for the protection of public land.It is one of the ten major environmental organizations in the United States.Founded in 1935,Robert Marshall is an important founder and financial supporter.In 1945,Howard Zanidze served as chairman of the wilderness Association and led the association to develop and grow.In the 1935-1964 years,the wilderness society protected a large area of public land.In 1964,under the unremitting efforts of the wilderness Association,the United States Congress passed the wilderness law,which incorporated the United States wilderness into the protection of the law,established a wilderness protection system that permanently protected the wilderness of the United States and opened a new history of American wilderness protection.Chapter.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter analyzes the historical origins and background of the wilderness Association.The popularity of Romanticism in eighteenth Century and nineteenth Century made Americans begin to appreciate the wilderness;the nature conservation movement of 1870 s laid the foundation for wilderness protection to be taken by the wilderness advocates;the emergence of "wild fever" in the United States in the late nineteenth Century made the appreciation of the wilderness a upsurge;the Roosevelt administration in 1930 s.Public policies,especially the permanent changes and damage to the surrounding environment of the construction dams and road construction projects of water conservancy projects,have led to the rebellion of wilderness advocates and environmental organizations.The second chapter expounds the motivation and process of the establishment of the wilderness Association and the main functions of the founder Robert Marshall and Aldo Leopold and Benton McKay on the establishment of the association in the fields of finance,thought and execution,and emphatically examines Robert Marshall's wilderness thought,wilderness practice and the wilderness.The great impact of protection.The third chapter describes the transformation and development of the American wilderness Association after World War II.After World War II,material demand in theUnited States increased sharply,and wilderness protection was at a low ebb,but at the same time,the trend of leisure in American society was also growing.At this time,the wilderness association also ushered in a major turning point.Howard Zanidze began to serve as the chairman of the wilderness Association and led the wilderness association to protect the wilderness in the form of legislation.The fourth chapter clarifies the main struggles and protection activities of the wilderness Association for the protection of the wilderness,including the struggle against the dam,the struggle against road construction and the wilderness areas protected.The fifth chapter makes a historical analysis of the wilderness Association.Since its establishment,the Wilderness Society has played an important role in promoting the protection of the American wilderness,protecting large areas of public and non road areas,and eventually promoting the passage of the Wilderness Act of 1964 and the permanent protection of the American wilderness.
