A Report On The Translation Of Cinema Approaching Reality(Chapter Four)

The author of Cinema Approaching Reality researches the theory of Chinese film by analyzing the film from1920 s to 1940 s.The fourth chapter is devoted to the analysis of Fey Mou’s film theory by describing film scenes.In the translation practice,the author pays attention to the way of revision for the first draft,and carries out case analysis.By searching the background information and revision the wording,the translation is made smoother and easier to understand,and it is in line with the reading habits of the target readers to help the reader better understand the original text.The translation revising pattern can be divided into two categories: "self-revision" implemented by the translator himself and "other-revision" implemented by other translators.As the creator of the translation,the original translator is relatively familiar with the original text,and the motivation for modifying the translation is stronger.Therefore,this study mainly discusses the translator’s "self-revision".The first chapter introduces the background of the source text and the significance of the report.The second chapter discusses the translation processes.The third chapter lists some cases about the self-revision in translation.The fourth chapter is the summary and reflections on the report.The source text and target text are in appendix.
