Consecutive Interpreting Report From The Perspective Of Skopostheorie

With the initiative of "One Belt One Road" Policy,contact among China and the world becomes closer and closer.Interpretation,as an important means in international exchanges and cooperation,is of great importance nowadays and plays an essential role of bridges and links between different parties.Interpreting activities have practical and specific purpose and aim to achieve certain communicative functions,while the core of Skopostheorie lies in the purpose and function of translation.Thus Skopostheorie has a close connection with interpreting---it can be the guiding principle for interpreting.The interpreting practice involved in this report is accomplished under the guidance of Skopostheorie.The interpreter actively adopts appropriate interpretation strategies according to the three rules of Skopostheorie to improve the interpretation in the process of interpretation.This report focuses on the interpreting practice of Seminar on Movie&TV Media and Brand Management for Developing Countries,2017 sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce,organized by Hunan International Business Vocational College.The author serves as the interpreter in opening ceremony,closing ceremony,Shenzhen Satellite TV visit,parts of lectures as well as all cultural activities.During this period,many problems occurred,such as confusion of target receivers,adaptation,misinterpreting and omission,which violates the skopos rule,coherence rule as well as fidelity rule.At the same time,the author found she can improve the interpretation under the guidance of Skopostheorie.This report lays special emphasis on the interpreting practice.First,the report briefly introduces Skopostheorie,its basic concepts,development and three rules.Next,it thoroughly describes the task process,including the task background,the task features,pre-task preparation and on-site interpreting.Finally,case analysis is conducted on the basis of Skopostheorie by employing plenty of relevant examples,and then the author puts forward some interpreting tactics,hoping to provide references for future interpreting practice.
