This paper mainly investigates and studies the current situation and causes of language use in junior middle school students in Changsha city.This study first passed the questionnaire,interview design,modification and improvement,and then through the questionnaire release,recovery,interview implementation,collation,and finally through the SPSS software to enter and analyze the data.This paper mainly uses sociolinguistics and statistics methods to study the current situation and causes of language use in junior middle school students in Changsha City by frequency statistics,Likert scale,2 Related Sampls,K Independent Samples and correlation analysis etc.The paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter introduces the research background and current situation,research purpose and significance,research objects and methods.At the same time,it also briefly describes the questionnaire design and reliability analysis.The second chapter mainly describes and analyzes the language usage of junior middle school students in Changsha city from the aspects of first language acquisition,language competence,language use and language attitude in different fields.The third chapter analyzes and discusses the main factors affecting the language usage of junior middle school students in Changsha city from the perspective of family,school and students themselves.The fourth chapter summarizes the research results of this paper,and discusses and predicts the related issues such as the preservation and development of language and the future development of language use in junior middle school students in Changsha.After a series of statistics and analysis,we found that the language use of junior middle school students in Changsha city is mainly Mandarin,and Mandarin has become the language with the highest frequency and the most extensive use.They have strong Mandarin basic ability of listening,speaking,reading and writing,and have a high level of emotional evaluation and social identity in Mandarin.For the Changsha dialect,although they have good maintenance of the basic ability of Changsha dialect,as the same time,listening and speaking is not strong overall,and its comprehensive evaluation is not high,and the use frequency has a tendency to decline.Although curing variant has existed in the language life of junior middle school students,its basic ability is weak overall,and its emotional value and frequency of use have a tendency to decline.With the development of promoting Mandarin and the standardization of languages,curing variant may decline gradually.Although the junior middle school students in Changsha city have higher recognition of the social status of English,the basic ability and frequency of English are not directly proportional to the requirements and expectations of learning.In addition,junior middle school students have more needs to learn other foreign languages.Furthermore,the education level,occupation,language use and language attitude of parents in the family field will affect the language acquisition and use of junior middle school students in Changsha.The policy requirements of the school,the language use and attitude of the teachers,and the language habits of the students are also the factors influencing the language use of junior middle school students.Students' own origin,first language acquisition,language competence and language attitude are also related to their language acquisition and use.From the above conclusions,it can be predicted that the language life of junior middle school students in Changsha city will still be the dominant language in Mandarin,and other languages or dialects will play a role in a certain scope,but curing variant may be waning.At the same time,with the increase of the demand for other languages,it may develop into a multilingual situation.
