A Practice Report On The C-E Translation Of Chinese Tea Culture

With the development of external exchange,more and more foreigners are interested in Chinese culture for its unique characteristics.In the treasure house of Chinese culture,tea culture sparkles as glittering pearl.Its charm deserves to be valued not only in our native land,but also shared and appreciated by mankind as a whole.This report is based on the translation of Chinese Tea Culture and it is aimed at exploring the methods of translating Chinese tea’s names,characteristics and some culture-loaded words which are related to tea culture.Chapter one is the general introduction to this practice report.Chapter two is translation process which mainly introduces the implementation of each phases,including preparation before translation,while translation and post translation.Chapter three is the core part.Here the author uses some translation strategies to cope with the translation difficulties and elaborates the application of literal translation,transliteration and free translation in this practice.The last part is conclusion,which is devoted to some findings,reflections,limitations and suggestions about this report.The author hopes this report will have some referential value to other translators to deal with similar tea culture texts.
