A Practice Report On The Translation Of Basic Drawing·Sketch

As a kind of communication tool,language’s main function is to convey information in different language environments.Drawing is not just a picture of an object,and it is also a reflection of our society.Life is the source of art,and art reflects life.As a special form of art,drawing influences people’s opinions on politics and their judgments on current events,letting people learn to think independently and give out their own unique charm.This report was written on the basis of the book Basic Drawing·Sketch,and the main content of it is about sketch.The author has tried to translate the excerpt of this book for studying the translation of drawing textbook.And she has analyzed and discussed the problems which appear in the translation process.This report consists of four chapters.In the first chapter,the author introduces the task background and text source,and analyzes the characteristics of the text and translator’s competence needed.The second chapter describes translation process,which includes implementation of translating plan.The third chapter is the key part of the report.The author analyzes the translation difficulties from lexical and syntactical level in detail,and puts forward some related coping strategies.In the last chapter,the author summarizes the experience gained from the translation process,and problems yet to be solved and reflection.The goal of this report is that it can let more and more foreigners understand China’s art culture,provide foreign drawing learners with more reading options,and then promote the development of Chinese drawing art.
