All along,in most of our cognition, the North American colonies were mainly built and developed by Europeans, and then became an independent new country. Thus the United States' succession to European thought and culture is self-evident.However,in the course of establishment and development of the United States, the influence of Chinese culture is little-known among the public.Dave Wang and Alfred Owen Aldridge——these American scholars' research has opened up a new field and brought a new perspective to the comparative study of Sino-American Culture. From these basic historical facts,we can carry out more relevant research in the future. This article examines the influence of Chinese civilization on the founding fathers of the United States, explores the factors of Chinese civilization behind the history of American culture, aims to fill the gaps in this field's research, and make contribution to the promotion of Sino-American cultural exchanges, especially the promotion of Chinese cultural self-confidence.This article begins with the exordium which introduces the origin of the research and the literature review. The main text concludes five chapters. The first chapter outlines the influence of Chinese civilization on the United States, focusing on the development of China's culture in the United States and the impact of Chinese culture on the founding fathers of the United States; The second chapter specifically explores the influence of Chinese culture on Benjamin Franklin.Franklin was fond of Confucianism and applied it to establish "new morality" in the United States. He advocated Confucianism and the imperial examination system of China which finally contributed to the establishment of democratic system in the United States after a century; The third chapter explores the indissoluble bond between Thomas Jefferson and Chinese culture based on Jefferson's love for Chinese architectural style and Confucian thoughts. The fourth chapter studies the relationship between George Washington and Chinese culture, based on the historical facts of Washington's promotion of the formation and development of Sino-US trade,as well as his love for and promotion of Chinese flowers in the United States; The fifth chapter is a remark on the basis of summarization and analysis, including the exploration of the reasons why Chinese culture can spread in and further exert an influence on the Unite States, and the exploration of mutual learning among civilizations.
