A Report On The E-C Translation Of Automotive Engineering Research Papers

As science,technology and globalization develop rapidly,international scientific and technological exchanges are increasing.Translation of research papers is beneficial to push these exchanges.The task accepted by the author is intended to help the client and his team members learn the most advanced achievements about automotive engineering in the world.The report is written on the basis of the translation of the two English research papers about automotive engineering.The purpose of this report is to analyze the features of research papers by taking the source text as an example,to explore the difficulties in the translation and what theories and strategies can be used to solve the problems.The report is composed of five chapters.The background of the task,the significance and organization of the report are introduced in the first chapter.The second chapter is a recall of the entire translation process.In the third chapter,the translator analyzes the ST from three aspects:lexical features,syntactic features and non-linguistic features.Chapter four discusses what strategies can be adopted to deal with difficulties encountered during the translation and to achieve functional equivalence in form and content under the guidance of functional equivalence by citing examples.The author makes a conclusion and makes suggestions to those who will translate English research papers in the last chapter.
