Research On Three-syllable Word In Linchuan Four Dreams

The number of three-syllable words in Linchuan Four Dreams is very large,and its types of structure are diverse.However,little papers have researched it specially,which leaves us enough space to study them.This paper will exhaustively count the number of three-syllable words and describe them in detail,in order to reproduce the general situation of three-syllable words in Early Modern Chinese.In view of the current achievements and combine with my own opinions,we finally count out 304 three-syllable words.We will study them from four perspectives including structural approach,semantic constitute,syntactic function,and pragmatic function.We find that the structural types are the same as Modern Chinese,the ways of semantic constitute are diverse,and play an important role in dictionary’s compilation,such as,providing firs proof,supplementing vocabulary entry,improving separation of meanings and advancing the time of books’proof.
