The Critical Theory Of Enlightenment Rationality In Dialectic Of Enlightenment

Dialectic of enlightenment is an important theoretical works of the western Marxism,Horkheimer and Adorno established the tone of social critical theory in University of Frankfurt Institute for social research through this works.Enlightenment is not a historical event in the past,but a realistic and complicated problem.Dialectic of enlightenment opens the door to the criticism of modernity through the critique and reflection of the Enlightenment rationality,which is still of great significance to the development of today's society.This paper is mainly about Horkheimer and Adorno's critical theory of enlightenment rationality on the Dialectic of Enlightenment.This thesis consists of four parts.The introduction introduces the origin,the significance and the main research methods of the topic,and combs the domestic and foreign literature about the dialectic of enlightenment and the criticism of enlightenment rationality,and carries on the analysis.In the first chapter,the author introduces the concept of enlightenment and enlightenment rationality,expounds the relationship between enlightenment and myth,and the development of enlightenment in the whole continental Europe.In the second chapter,centering on the core text of Dialectic of Enlightenment,this paper discusses the alienation of the enlightenment rationality in the social life by criticizing the cultural industry and the anti Semitism of the two goals.The last chapter mainly deals with the evaluation of the critical theory of enlightenment,which includes boththe direct inheritance of the criticism theory and the reverse development of the critical theory inside and outside the Frankfurt school.Horkheimer and Adorno's critical theory of enlightenment rationality on the Dialectic of Enlightenment is a reflection of the development of human civilization made in the critical height of the industrial civilization.It not only play an important guiding role in the theoretical circles and social movements,but also provided an important inspiration for the development of today's society.
