Research On Daizhen’s Tiandao Theory

The main trend of academe was textology during the Qing dynasty.The scholars put more energy on sorting the ancient books and interpreting historical relics,which led to stagnant Scholarly Community.Although highly adapted to the social development,Cheng-zhu’s philosophy was still considered as the official ideology at the same time.the situation was broken out by Dai Zhen,with fearless courage and honest spirit,built his own philosophy by seeking Tao.He wanted to change the strange social phenomenon,which the scholars did not dare to have nothing to do with the Cheng-zhu’s philosophy,by revising the ways of thinking from the neo-confucians in Song and Ming Dynasty,therefore he built other system than the most theory which had the spirit of the time.Dai Zhen’s Tiandao theory is studied in this essay.Tiandao theory is the precondition of Dai Zhen’s philosophy,which had helped him get out of the shackles from Cheng-zhu’s philosophy and establish the his philosophy system.The text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter includes three parts,which are Dai Zhen‘career,the three stages of his thoughts and the resources of his theory.In the second chapter,the development of Tiandao theory before Dai Zhen is sorted.the two roads by Qi or by principle about how to explain Tao are important points in this chapter from Song dynasty to Ming dynasty.In the third chapter,the main content is discussed about the Dai Zhen’s Tiandao theory.At first,the connection between Tiandao and Qi is that Tiandao is based on Qi ontology;In the next place,Dai Zhen gei rid of principle,which is original,through deconstructing and reconstructing the principle of neo-confucian and redefine the association between principle and Qi;At last,Dai Zhen on the one hand deny the dualism of human nature,on the other hand interpret monism of human nature included the new opinion about good human nature.In the fourth chapter,the influence is concerned about Dai Zhen’s Tiandao highly.It is included materialism,scientist spirit and humanism.However,Dai’s theory don’t keep away from the worry of old philosophy,such as the overlook about specific things.The philosophical system of Dai Zhen,including Tiandao theory,,has important historical position in the Chinese intellectual history.nowadays,cultural innovation,which people are engaging in,can get much inspiration and suggestions from Dai Zhen ‘s learning and thinking.
