The Research Of Character Images On Bricks Of Tomb In Gaotai In Wei-jin Dynasty

Since the Spring-Autumn Period and the Warring States Period,the Wei-Jin Period is the most turbulent period in the history of China but it is an essential turn period in Chinese art history.Tomb art,a kind of relatively unique art,boasts its own special way of expression to reflect the concept of culture and art.Mural tombs in Wei-Jin Dynasty in Hexi area including mural tombs in Wei-Jin Dynasty are important parts of Chinese ancient tomb art.Mural tombs in Gaotai in Wei-Jin Dynasty vividly reappear the social and cultural life of Hexi area at that time in the form of image.The bricks used to build tomb in Gaotai in Wei-Jin Dynasty are in the shape of one brick with a painting image on it which can be separated into one picture.Among those images,the character images on the tomb in Gaotai in Wei-Jin Dynasty are in the main position in the region.According to the content,these character images can be divided into two categories,namely the myth character image and the real world character image.On the basis of tomb murals subjects in Han Dynasty,its subjects and contents make some changes.For example,the subjects of historical story such as three sovereigns,sage coats Lucretia women are disappeared while the subjects of Fuxi and Nvwa and the subjects about the production and living such as traveing farming figure,kitchen,etc.are retained.At the same time,there are new subjects,such as dock figure,grazing figure and so on.Based on the character images on the bricks unearthed from the tomb in Gaotai of Wei-Jin dynasty,this paper firstly classifies them and secondly according to the classification makes analysis and summary,and thirdly makes a systematic review and summary of its artistic characteristics.Besides,it involves the discuss of beliefs funeral customs,artistic conception and so on.Through such analysis,it shows the cultural connotation of tomb bricks in Gaotai in Wei-Jin Dynasty and the art forms full of local characteristics.
