The automatic evaluation system is being applied increasingly in the English writing teaching,and it has attracted more and more attention of people in the English educational area.The automatic evaluation system is a teaching tool which uses the corpus and artificial intelligence to give scores for students' writing,and can record the process of the writing.It can meet well with the requirements of College English curriculum,it can meet the need of information and personalization of teaching as well.Based on the collection of related literature of the automatic evaluation system and the present situation of College English writing teaching and cognitive style,this paper made a comprehensive study of College English writing teaching using the automatic evaluation system from the cognitive style perspective.From the differences in cognitive styles,it summed up the application strategy of automatic evaluation system in the College English writing teaching,aimed to realize the integration of the information technology and better teaching,and gave a hand to improve the writing ability and level of college students in indeed.Through the related literature,this paper found that the current research of automatic marking system pays more attention to teaching results,but lacking focus on the writing teaching process and the learners.The thesis started from the cognitive style of students and used literature method,experimental method and survey method to study the application process and application strategy of automatic evaluation system in the college English writing teaching.Finally,it could not only analyze the scores of writing,the times of modification and the degree of similarity of the students who have different cognitive styles,but also put forward suggestions and strategies for the future study.Through the investigation and analysis of the current situation of College English writing,the author designed the application process and strategy of automatic evaluation system in English writing teaching.By analyzing the results of writing and questionnaires from students with different cognitive styles at the end of the term,it reached a conclusion about the the advantages and disadvantages of automatic evaluation system used in the English Writing Teaching,then modified and adjusted the related application strategy.Finally,there are some strategies: Utilizing automatic evaluation system can create the English writing environment and inspire the writing motivation of students who have different cognitive styles;According to the differences in cognitive styles,the automatic evaluation system can provide teaching support and strengthen the monitoring strategies in the process of writing;It can make targeted writing evaluation based on the features of different cognitive styles.To use the automatic evaluation system to improve the English writing teaching of the college students is an ever-developing process,which needs English teachers to continue to explore and practice and eventually solves the various problems in the teaching process.
