The Research On Journalistic Education In National Calamity

In modern China,people's national goals had strong colors of'extraversion",which constantly shaped and promoted the people's ideal and practice of constructing the modern nation-state.Establishment and development of University of Journalism Education was the important way to show the logic mentioned above.The university journalism education was not inherent in Chinese history.In the case of modern social transformation,university journalism education was the product of development of journalism and university education,which happened in the context of China's reality and had a close interaction with each other.On the one hand,the university journalism education always followed the Inner Logic to promote the theoretical extension and the development of discipline(it was called "learning").On the other hand,it had a strong social orientation to serve Chinese journalism(it meant "Skill")).Eventually,the two factors were unified in the pursuit of the ultimate goal of national modernization.When it comes to the level of development of modern Chinese university journalism education and its actual achievements,Yenching University's Department of Journalism and its journalism education was indeed a model,which combined the characteristics of "learning" and "skill" perfectly.Especially from the beginning of the 1930s,The National Conflict between China and Japan gradually became very severe,Yenching University's Department of Journalism has always attached more significance to journalism education's social function of saving the nation,and striving to strengthen journalism education's Chinese characteristics(localization).Under the circumstance of the national crisis,Peking gradually became a city threatened by Japanese Invasion,which in reality had a obvious influence on the development of Yenching University's Department of Journalism and its journalism education.As a department head,Huang Hsin-chao and his successor named Liang Hubert S,and later Liu Huo-hsuan,conducted some highly targeted reforms,which combined the practical needs of national crisis and the internal logic of subject's modernization.Under the national crisis,Yenching University's Department of Journalism and its journalism education showed strong features of nationalism,in order to solve practical problems in Chinese journalism and society.Teaching and research are all around this center to expand.Therefore,educational goals' setting,adjustment of curriculum system,publications' creation,the transition of academic path,internal and external communication and so on revealed a profound meaning of applying the knowledge into effect.Meanwhile,the above-mentioned were in line with university journalism education's fundamental target of promoting Chinese Characterization Process.That is,in the period of serious national crisis,the Social Function and discipline-systemizing process of university journalism had a internal consistency.In a word,the two factors were united the ultimate goal of making journalism education's localization into national modernization,and become a important driving force of constructing nation-state in modem China.
