Human being has a nature of loving beauty.This sentence tells a universal preference for beautiful appearance.And facial attractiveness is one of them.Facial attractiveness is kind of positive happy emotion that activated by human face,with a willing want to approach.Researchers have studied a lot to clarify the phenomenon.And they find many factors such as averageness,symmetry and sexual dimorphism.Also researchers find that facial attractiveness influences substantial aspects like normal human interchange,career,self concept and mating.This research explored the rule of facial attractiveness processing by attentional bias(study 1)and memory bias(study 2)examining through different facial attractiveness level.Yet the cognitive processing preference for facial attractiveness is variable.Studies in social culture perspective find that frequent exposing the high level facial attractiveness through mass media take the consequence that over estimating the range of beautiful faces and reducing the evaluation of average faces.We examine this effect in study 3 by frequent exposing high level facial attractiveness.In addition to the variability,we also interested in value of facial attractiveness processing preference.Study 4 find the sexual value and aesthetic value by implicit association test.The conclusion follows:(1)participants show attentional bias to high level facial attractiveness in male only.(2)males show memory bias to high level facial attractiveness especially to female faces.(3)social culture can influence facial attractiveness preference.(4)facial attractiveness preference includes sexual value and aesthetic value.
