Objective: To objectively evaluate the clinical effect of dachengqi decoction in the treatment of gastrointestinal dysfunction in severe patients from the perspective of intestinal barrier function, and to reveal the clinical significance and advantages of dachengqi decoction in the treatment of gastrointestinal dysfunction in severe patients. Methods: Severe patients were selected as subjects in this study, and 60 patients who met the diagnostic criteria were included and randomly divided into observation group and control group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine, and the observation group was given with dachengqi decoction orally/enema on the basis of western medicine treatment. The treatment duration was 1 week. The recovery of gastrointestinal function(abdominal bloating time, bowel sound recovery time, first defecation time)and hospitalization days were recorded.TCM syndrome score, gastrointestinal dysfunction score and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups.Inflammatory markers(WBC,PCT,IL-6,CRP)and intestinal barrier function indicators(ET,D-LAC,DAO)were measured before and after treatment. All data were statistically processed and analyzed using SPSS21.0.Results: Three of the patients were excluded because the hospital stay was less than 1week.A total of 57 patients were included, including 30 in the observation group and 27 in the control group.1.There was no significant difference between the two groups in baseline data(P>0.05)in gender, age, disease distribution,TCM syndrome score, gastrointestinal dysfunction score,WBC,PCT,IL-6,CRP,ET,D-LAC,DAO,etc.It is comparable.2.The time of bloating relief, recovery time of bowel sounds and first defecation time in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group after treatment, and the length of hospital stay was shorter than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).3.TCM syndrome score and gastrointestinal dysfunction score of patients in bothgroups were improved after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The TCM syndrome score and gastrointestinal dysfunction score in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group after treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.7%,and that of the control group was 70.4%.The efficacy of the observation group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.The levels of WBC,PCT,IL-6 and CRP in the two groups decreased after treatment compared with that before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The decrease of PCT and IL-6 in the observation group was significantly better than that in the control group after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in WBC and CRP levels between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05).5.The ET,D-LAC,and DAO levels in the two groups decreased after treatment compared with that before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Moreover,the decreased ET and DAO levels in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference between the observation group and the control group in the decrease of D-LAC level(P>0.05).Conclusion: Dachengqi Decoction can effectively improve gastrointestinal dysfunction in severe ipatients, reduce the level of inflammatory factors, repair intestinal barrier function, promote gastrointestinal function recovery, improve clinical efficacy, and reflect the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in treating gastrointestinal dysfunction.
