ObjectiveTo understand the background information and online social behavior characteristics,as well as the acceptance of HIV intervention services of foreigners in Guangzhou.Exploring the relationship between online social behaviors and temporary sexual behaviors of foreigners in Guangzhou.Analysis the influence factors of HIV testing behaviors among foreigners in Guangzhou.MethodConduct a cross-sectional survey by using convenient sampling methods,selecting samples by offline recruitment and online recruitment,collecting foreigners who worked,studied and/or lived in Guangzhou during Oct-Dec 2019.After informed consent,we do an offline or online questionnaire survey about their background characteristics,online social behavior and sexual behavior characteristics,HIV testing behavior characteristics,the acceptance of HIV intervention service,etc.Offline surveys use a face-to-face approach;online surveys use a combination of social application and online survey platform.Use SPSS20.0 software for statistical analysis,the continuous variables were described by mean and standard deviation,the categorical variables were described by frequency distribution,and the comparison of rates was by ?2 test.Using logistic regression model for single factor and multi-factor analysis to explore the strength of the relationship between influencing factors and outcome variables.P<0.05 is considered statistically significant,all statistical tests are two-sided tests with a test level of ?=0.05.Results1.Background characteristics of foreignersA total of 434 foreigners were in this research,which collected by the offline questionnaires(241 person)and online questionnaires(193 person).Among them,68.4%were men,31.6%were women;the age were between 18-61 years old which the average were(31.0±8.8)years old;79.0%were mainly from Africa,19.1%were from Asia;46.5%were doing business in Guangzhou and 48.2%were students.2.Acceptance of HIV intervention servicesThere are 9.7%of foreigners who have received HIV promotion knowledge in China in the past 3 months,2.5%have discussed HIV prevention knowledge with friends in the last 3 months,and 37.6%knew HIV testing sites in Guangzhou,32.7%thought that it is difficult for foreigners to do HIV testing in China,5.3%thought they had high risk of HIV infection,3.9%said they had a friend who had HIV infection.3.Network social behavior and sexual behavior characteristicsThere are 57.8%of foreigners who have friends in China through online social platforms,62.7%have friends from their Own countries,45.6%have Chinese friends,and 51.8%have friends from other countries in China,57.1%have less than 10 closed contacts friends in China,77.6%often use WeChat,74.2%often use WhatsApp,and 44.0%often use Facebook,11.8%often use Twitter,31.6%often use Instagram,and 43.3%spend an average of 1-3 hours per day on social networking applications.Among the foreigners,83.6%have had sex before,49.9%have had sex with their spouse/fixed partner in the last 3 months,and 15.2%have had temporary sex in the last 3 months,44.1%used condoms during their last sex.4.Correlation analysis of online social behavior and temporary sexual behavior in the past 3 monthsThe results of multivariate analysis show that the average daily time spent on social networks over 6 hours is more likely to have temporary sex than those who are less than 1 hour(OR=3.63,95%C1:1.31?10.08).5.Analysis of HIV testing behavior and influencing factors39.2%were done HIV testing in the last 3 months,non of them were HIV positive by self-reported;208(57.3%)are willing to actively seek for HIV testing if had unprotected sex,59.2%thought the reason of done HIV testing is that they want to know their health status.Multivariate logistic regression model show that:The person who have the cumulative residence time is 4-12 months(compared to those cumulative residence time<3 months,OR=3.65,95%CI:1.87?7.15),have done health check-up in China within the last 6 months(compared to those who have not taken,OR=2.77 95%CI:1.69-4.55),who know HIV testing sites in Guangzhou(compared to those who have not,OR=2.54,95%Cl:1.54-4.18)have done HIV testing in the past 3 months.ConclusionPart of the foreigners in this research which come from Africa and Asia have lower rates of HIV/AIDS awareness,simpler online social behaviors and greater health needs.Whats more,the HIV promotion and intervention services of foreigners need to be improved.Almost one-sixth of foreigners have had sex with temporary sexual partners.The longer they spend on social networking software,the more likely they are to have temporary sexual behaviour.Those with a cumulative residence time of 4-12 months,who are concerned about their own health status and understand HIV testing services are more likely to done HIV testing.It is necessary to take comprehensive measures to promote HIV testing.
