| With the rapid development of our economy, increasing amount of people are troubled by insomnia, making the improvement of sleeping quality a struggle, which also contributed to the slip of life quality presented by the normal life being clouded.Being the source of everything, sleeping disorders like insomnia are regarded as one of the major health problems.Insomnia is divided into two types: primary insomnia and secondary insomnia. This article focuses on primary insomnia. As one of the independent mental symptoms, primary insomnia is defined as having trouble to sleep or suffering from insomnia for at least more than one month.Primary insomnia is a susceptible factor for many diseases, including mental and cognitive disorders, especially depression and anxiety. It is related to the sequelae of daytime injury.Primary insomnia being immune from medical, mental or environmental influences,or even without critical clinical problems and medical-related challenges,we tried to explore whether and how primary insomnia affects the brain regions and their changes.Studies in animals have found that lack of sleep may exert adversely effects on the plasticity of brain function, including longterm synapses.Studies in other animals have shown that sleep deprivation and sleep loss can reduce neurogenesis, especially in the hippocampus, which also suggests that lack of sleep can also affect brain structure. These findings on functions and structures are consistent with human behavioral studies, suggesting that experimental sleep reduction can disrupt neurocognitive abilities. But little is known about the neurobiological mechanisms of insomnia. The method used in this study is based on the tract based spatial statistics(TBSS).The diffusion tensor imaging(DTI)data of the subjects are processed and analyzed. This study involved 31 primary insomnia patients and 31 counterparts, whose DTI data are used to compare with the primary insomnia ones. The course of selection considered criteria like gender, age and relative behavioral scales.Studies have found that the characteristics of white matter in patients with primary insomnia have changed. We use a variety of DTI indicators, which is a kind of non-aggression method,to analyze the white matter in the brain, and we can observe the changes in white matter. This research method has an outstanding performance inclinical and various experiments. In the DTI index, the FA value is particularly sensitive to the change of white matter in the brain.MD,AD,and RD may provide more information on the structure of axonal cell membranes and myelin sheaths as supplements. We found that compared with the healthy control group, patients with primary insomnia experience a decrease of FA value manifested by posterior limb of the internal capsule(PLIC),external capsule(EC),anterior coronal radiata(ACR),body of corpus callosum(BCC),genu of corpus callosum(GCC),splenium of corpus callosum(SCC).Increased AD,RD,MD in the posterior limb of the internal capsule(PLIC),external capsule(EC),anterior coronal radiata(ACR),superior coronal radiata(SCR),body of corpus callosum(BCC),genu of corpus callosum(GCC),splenium of corpus callosum(SCC).The decrease of FA value may be caused by the increase of AD and RD value.FA Correlation analysis demonstrated that there is a significant positive correlation between the average FA in the posterior limb of the internal capsule(PLIC)and PSQI in primary insomnia patients.Negative correlation between the average FA in the splenium of corpus callosum(SCC)and HAMA in primary insomnia patients. This study found that the FA value of white matter in patients with primary insomnia decreased, and AD and RD values increased. This finding may provide new insights into the neural mechanism of patients with primary insomnia. |
