Objective:To investigate the effects of median nerve electrical stimulation(MNES)with different pulse duration on patients with disorders of consciousness. Methods:The databases including Chinese Knowledge Network(CNKI),Wanfang Database,VIP,PubMed and Web of Science were searched from inception to March2018 for pulse duration on median nerve electrical stimulation(MNES)for patients with disorders of consciousness,We found three pulse durations including 50?s?200?s and 300?s.80 patients with disorders of consciousness were randomly divided into control group(n=20),experimental group 1(n=20),experimental group 2(n=20)and experimental group 3(n=20).the control group received routine Wake-promoting methods, and the experimental groups received routine Wake-promoting method combined with median nerve electrical stimulation with 50?s,200?s,300?s in sequence for four weeks. They were assessed with Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS),Coma Recovery Scale-Revised(CRS-R),Somatosensory evoked potential(SEP)and brainstem auditory evoked potential(BAEP)before and after treatment. Results:After treatment, the GCS score, the CRS-R score, the SEP and the BAEP were significantly increased for patients with disorders of consciousness in the treatment groups and the control group(P< 0.05).Compared with the control group, the GCS score, the CRS-R score, the SEP and the BAEP of patients with disorders of consciousness in the treatment group were better.the GCS score and CRS-R score of patients with disorders of consciousness in the treatment groups respectively show that experimental groups 1 < experimental groups 2 < experimental groups 3(P <0.05).the Rank means of the SEP and BAEP grades in the treatment groups respectively show that experimental groups 1>experimental groups 2>experimental groups 3(P<0.05).Conclusion:Median nerve stimulation combined with routine Wake-promoting methods is more effective in patients with disorder of consciousness.Compared with the 50?s and200?s,300?s could promote patients with disorder of consciousness to wake up optimally.
