ObjectiveUnderstand the current status of medical seeking behavior of infertility patients,analyze the main factors affecting their medical seeking behavior,medical needs and the characteristics of medical seeking behavior of patients with different pregnancy outcomes,explore the correlation between medical seeking behavior and pregnancy outcomes,and propose corresponding countermeasures from both doctors and patients In order to promote the reasonable medical seeking behavior of patients,improve the quality of medical services,and increase the success rate of pregnancy.MethodsThis article investigates the status of infertility patients’ medical seeking behavior and related influencing factors through questionnaires and interviews.445 infertility patients who were treated in the reproductive departments of two third-class hospitals in Zunyi City from September 2018 to December 2018 were selected by the encounter(convenience)sampling method,a self-designed questionnaire was used for the survey.The questionnaire was finalized after modification by consulting experts,reliability and validity analysis,and pre-survey.In order to further solve the human-related influencing factors of infertility patients,this study designed the interview theme,focusing on selecting 10 patients for in-depth interviews.The data were analyzed using statistical description,chi-square test,and logistic regression.ResultsThe patients tended to be younger;the patients mostly choose public hospitals,the main reasons are convenience,and high-level and trusted doctors;the educational level,occupation,and whether have children of the patients affect their compliance.The main factors(P <0.05);the patient’s age,education,occupation and whether they have childrenaffect the patient’s use of the hospital(P <0.05);the patient’s age,ethnicity,education,and occupation affect the patient’s treatment of the doctor(P <0.05);the patient’s education level,occupation and income are significant factors that influence the patient’s medical seeking behavior;through qualitative data analysis,the influential factors of the patient’s medical seeking behavior are affected by social,family and personal multi-faceted human factors.Whether the patients were treated by the same doctor in the same hospital and whether their mate saw a doctor at the same time were significant factors affecting the pregnancy outcomes of the patients(P <0.05).ConclusionInfertility is a complex medical problem affected by multiple factors.Understanding of the medical seeking behavior of infertility patients is of positive significance for understanding the path of patient visits,guiding patients to seek medical treatment in a scientific and rational manner,and using non-technical means to increase the pregnancy rate.Patients’ decision-making of medical seeking is affected by multiple influences of themselves and the outside world.The status of medical seeking of infertility patients needs to be improved.We should pay attention to patients’ medical seeking needs,improve the construction of patients’ medical satisfaction,strengthen patient mental health education,improve health health services at all levels and reproduction Specialist construction to improve the ability of infertility patients to seek medical service and improve the treatment effect.
