Objective:To explore the relationship between serum GGT level and heart function and short-term prognosis in elderly patients with heart failure.Method:Through the electronic information system of the first hospital of Jilin University,we searched the elderly patients with heart failure who were hospitalized in the cardiovascular department from August 2017 to August 2018,and recorded the basic information of the patients(including age,gender,history of comorbidity,classification of cardiac function,etc.),liver function,ultrasonic ECG results and other biochemical characteristics.According to the results of blood sampling,patients were divided into GGT increased group(> 60u/L)and GGT normal group(10-60u/L).SPSS 23.0 statistical software was used to analyze and process the data.Result:(1)Compared with GGT normal group,patients in GGT increased group were younger,with less history of hypertension and diabetes,with higher blood BNP level,and higher hospital mortality.(2)Compared with the normal GGT group,patients in the high GGT group had larger left ventricular end diastolic diameter and lower ejection fraction.(3)By calculating Spearman correlation coefficient,we can see that blood GGT level is positively correlated with BNP,left ventricular end diastolic diameter,cardiac function grade and hospital death,and negatively correlated with EF.(4)According to the ROC curve analysis,the AUC value of BNP is 0.787,the best cutoff value is 0.439,the sensitivity is 60.0%,the specificity is 83.9%;the AUC value of GGT is 0.785,the best cutoff value is 0.562,the sensitivity is 80.0%,the specificity is 76.2%.Conclusion(1)The level of blood GGT in elderly inpatients with heart failure was positively correlated with BNP,left ventricular diastolic diameter,cardiac function grade and hospital death,and negatively correlated with EF.While the above indexes were all correlated with patients' cardiac function,so it can be seen that the increase of blood GGT level may indicate worse cardiac function.(2)BNP and GGT are both effective predictors of in-hospital death in elderly patients with heart failure.(3)BNP has weak sensitivity and strong specificity in predicting in-hospital death of elderly patients with heart failure,while GGT has strong sensitivity and weak specificity in predicting in-hospital death of elderly patients with heart failure.
