Background Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the Chinese population. The burden of disease among the aging population has become more serious than ever and with China having more than 0.23 billion people aged over 60,CVDs affect more than 17 million individuals. Thus CVDs present a major public health challenge. Objective This study aimed to analyze and compare CVDs burden among population living in Pukou-Nanjing.In addition,it aimed to study relationship between social economic and demographic indicators of CVDs,obtain the detection rate of CVDs in district and to analysis the risk factors of CVDs.In second part a systemic review on district-based studies on hypertension prevalence was carried out to report a pooled prevalence of hypertension among population and to report the prevalence of hypertension among subgroups at high-risk.Methods This was a cross sectional study of 454 participants aged between 50 and 92 years old and data was collected using questionnaires.Physical measurements and laboratory examinations information was obtained from PUKOU hospital data base.Data was analyzed using SPSS 22.0 software. For Systematic review and meta-analysis,studies were performed to correctly identify relevant studies to our review.Pub Med database,Stata 14.0 was searched until the 30 th of November 2018.Search plan included the following terms: cardiovascular diseases CVDs,risk factors in communityResults The total of subjects were 454,with an average age of 62.07±8.89,136 males and 314 females.Of these,44 had cardiovascular disease, with a detection rate of 9.7%.Logistic regression showed that elevated LDL-C,hypertension,stroke,obesity and alcohol consumption were all risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, with statistically significant differences. In this Meta-analysis,the prevalence of hypertension a total of 8 studies with more than 64,247 individuals was included, and the pooled prevalence of hypertension was 32%(95%CI: 0.11-0.53).The results of subgroup analysis showed that the prevalence of hypertension was 54%(95%CI: 0.35-0.72)in people over 45 years old and 10%(95%CI: 0.04-0.17)in people under 45 years old. Conclusions This study demonstrates that the detection rate of cardiovascular disease in Pukou district was 9.7%.The occurrence of cardiovascular diseases is closely related to the increase of LDL-C,obesity,stroke,hypertension and drinking. Therefore,it is necessary to take effective interventions, such as increase the awareness of public health.
