objectives:This study aimed to explore the clinical application of blood routine index LMR,HCT and PCT in the activity judgment of inflammatory bowel disease.Research materials and methods:The patients with inflammatory bowel disease hospitalized in the Department of Digestive Medicine of Jilin University Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital from January 2017 to December 2019 were reviewed and analyzed.A total of 142 patients were included in this study, including 122 patients with ulcerative colitis(UC)and 20 patients with Crohn’s disease(CD).Besides,30 healthy patients with health examination at the physical examination center of Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital of Jilin University at the same time were selected as the control group.According to the modified Truelove and Witts disease severity classification criteria,17 patients with moderate remission,32 patients with mild activity,39 patients with moderate activity, and 34 patients with severe activity were selected respectively as the UC remission group, mild group, moderate group, and severe group.According to the simplified Crohn disease activity index,4 patients with moderate remission stage,4 patients with mild activity,5 patients with moderate activity, and 7 patients with severe activity were selected respectively as the CD remission group, mild group, moderate group, and severe group.Respectively for data analysis.Results:1.There was no statistically significant difference in gender and age between the IBD group and the control group(p>0.05).Compared with the UC group, the age of onset in CD group was younger, the difference was statistically significant(p < 0.05),and the difference of gender was not statistically significant(p > 0.05).2.LMR,HCT,and PCT in the IBD group were compared with the control group. The LMR and HCT in the IBD group were lower than those in the control group, and the PCT levels in the IBD group were higher than those in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(p <0.05).Sex analysis showed that LMR and HCT were negatively correlated with IBD activity,ESR and CRP,and PCT were positively correlated with IBD activity,ESR and CRP.3.In the UC group, compared with the remission group, the difference of HCT and PCT in the mild group, moderate group and severe group were statistically significant(p<0.05).LMR in the severe group was statistically significant relative to the remission group(p<0.05).Compared with the remission group,LMR in the mild group and moderate group were not statistically significant(p>0.05).LMR and HCT were negatively correlated with UC activity,ESR and CRP,and PCT was positively correlated with UC activity,ESR and CRP.4.In the CD group, compared with the remission group,HCT and PCT in the severe group were statistically significant(p<0.05),HCT and PCT in the mild and moderate group were not statistically significant(p>0.05).Compared with the remission group,LMR in the mild, moderate and severe group were not statistically significant(p>0.05).PCT was positively correlated with CD activity,LMR and HCT had no correlation with CD activity.5.In the UC group, taking the remission group and the mild group of the UC group as the cut-off points, make the AOC curves of HCT and PCT respectively. The area under the curve of PCT was 0.835 when the cut off value of PCT was 0.253,and the sensitivity was 0.623 and specificity would be 1.Conclusion:1.The age of onset in the CD group was younger than that in the UC group.2.In the UC group,PCT can be used to evaluate the activity of UC disease, and LMR and HCT can be used to evaluate the severe activity of UC.3.In the CD group,PCT and HCT can be used to evaluate the severe activity of CD.4.LMR and HCT were negatively correlated with UC group activity and IBD group activity, and PCT was positively correlated with UC group activity and IBD group activity;PCT was positively correlated with CD group activity.
