Objective The therapeutic effect of parotid cancer patients in general hospital of Ning Xia medical university and the prognostic factors of parotid cancer patients were analyzed retrospectivelyMethods Data of parotid cancer patients admitted to Ning Xia medical university general hospital from January 2012 to December 2018 who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were collected.Kaplan-meier method was used to calculate survival time and draw survival curve.Log-rank test was used for single-factor analysis and COX risk regression model was used for multi-factor analysis to further explore the risk factors affecting the prognosis of parotid cancerResults The 5-year OS and DFS of the patients in the whole group were 86.43% and 86.78%,respectively,and the median OS and DFS were not yet reached.Surgery in patients with OS,5 years DFS were 85.15% and 86.7% respectively, postoperative adjuvant radiation therapy in patients with OS for five years,DFS were 87.35% and 88.2% respectively.Single factor analysis showed statistical differences in OS in patients with different age, lymph node status, tissue differentiation degree and pathological type(p =0.001,p < 0.001,p < 0.001,p =0.007).There were statistically significant differences in DFS among patients of different ages, lymph node status, degree of tissue differentiation, and pathological type(p =0.001,p < 0.001,p < 0.001,p =0.005).Multivariate analysis showed that age(?60 years old),degree of tissue differentiation(low differentiation)and lymph node status(positive lymph nodes)were independent risk factors for the prognosis of OS in patients with parotid carcinoma(p =0.044,p =0.013,p =0.035).Histological differentiation degree(low differentiation)and lymph node status(positive lymph nodes)were independent risk factors for DFS in patients with parotid carcinoma(p =0.013,p =0.011).Conclusion 1.For patients with locally advanced and/or advanced parotid carcinoma with risk factors, the combined treatment of surgery and postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy can achieve good survival.2.Age(?60 years old),degree of tissue differentiation(low differentiation),and lymph node status(positive lymph nodes)were independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients with parotid carcinoma.3.Distant metastasis is the main cause of treatment failure in patients with parotid gland carcinoma, and also the main cause of death.
