Objective To explore the differences in risk factors of stroke, clinical manifestations, etiological classification, degree of neurological deficits, drug compliance and prognosis of patients with acute minor ischemic stroke of different genders. Methods 1.Retrospectively collected clinical data of patients with acute minor ischemic stroke hospitalized in our Department of Neurology, from January 01,2018 to December 31,2018.The 411 patients were divided into male and female groups. And then further grouped according to age, patients were divided into young group(18-44 years old),middle-aged group(45-59 years old)and elderly group(?60 years old).Chi-square test or t-test and other statistical methods were used to compare and analyze the differences in risk factors, clinical manifestations, etiological classification, and degree of neurological deficits in patients of different ages and genders.2.Patients were followed up on outpatient or telephone 1 year after discharge to investigate the differences in drug compliance and prognosis of patients with acute minor ischemic stroke in different age groups and genders. Results 1.A total of 411 patients with acute minor ischemic stroke were included,223males(54.26%),188 females(45.74%),and male: female ? 1.19: 1.The average age of males was(60.81 ± 13.39)years old,and the average age of females was(60.97 ± 12.28)years old.Patients of different genders were grouped according to age: men were divided into the youth group 24 cases(10.76%),the middle-aged group 82 cases(36.77%),and the elderly group117 cases(52.47%).Women were divided into the youth group 16 cases(8.51%),the middle-aged group 71 cases(37.77%),and the elderly group 101 cases(53.72%).There was no significant difference in the average age of each age group between male and female patients(P(29)0.05).There was no statistically difference in composition of age groups between different genders(P>0.05).2.The average level of homocysteine(HCY)in the young male patients with minor ischemic stroke was higher than that in the young female patients, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Hypertension and coronary heart disease was more common in the middle-aged female patients, and the difference was statistically significan(P<0.05).The average levels of homocysteine(HCY),triglycerides(TG)and body mass index(BMI)in the middle-aged male patients were higher than those in the middle-aged female patients, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Hypertension,atrial fibrillation, and limb numbness were more common in the elderly female patients, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The average levels of HCY and TG in the elderly male patients were higher than those in the elderly female patients, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The compliance of lipid-lowering drugs in the elderly male patients was worse than that in the elderly female patients, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The prognosis of the elderly male group was worse than that of the elderly female patients, the differences was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion 1.The prognosis and compliance with lipid-lowering drugs in elderly men with mild ischemic stroke are worse than that in elderly women, and male patients have higher levels of HCY,TG,and BMI.2.Hypertension,coronary heart disease, atrial fibrillation are more common in middle-aged and elderly female patients.3.Limb numbness is more common in elderly women with mild stroke.
