Schizophrenia is a common psychiatric disease,is a high incidence rate, high disability rate of the disease.Olanzapine is now widely used in the treatment of schizophrenia, the effect is positive.Studies have shown that in the treatment of schizophrenia,Olanzapine often leads to obesity, weight gain, impaired glucose metabolism and Lipid metabolism.Ginkgo biloba extract has a wide range of pharmacological effects,it is widely used in the treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, neuropsychiatric and other diseases. It can be used in the study of schizophrenia, improve the efficacy of antipsychotic drugs, and reduce the adverse reactions of antipsychotic drugs.Ginkgo biloba leavs have the effect of lowering blood lipid. In the past, there were some researches on the treatment of Metabolic Syndrome in schizophrenia patients with traditional Chinese medicine, but there was no related research on the treatment of Ginkgo biloba extract. Therefore, this study observed the effects of Ginkgo biloba extract on body mass, glucose metabolism, and Lipid metabolism induced by Olanzapine in the treatment of schizophrenia,it provides reference and direction for the prevention and treatment of Metabolic Syndrome caused by antipsychotic. Objective:Ginkgo biloba preparation has the effect of regulating blood lipid and alleviating the adverse reaction of antipsychotic,in this study,Ginkgo biloba leaves were added to the conventional antipsychotic drug Olanzapine. To observe the therapeutic effect, and to investigate the effect of Ginkgo leaves tablet on the weight gain, glucose metabolism and lipid metabolism adverse reactions in schizophrenia patients taking Olanzapine.Methods:80 schizophrenics were randomly divided into two groups, the patients were numbered according to the time of admission, and all the patients were assigned according to the ratio of1:1 by the method of digital random table, there were 40 cases in each group: single group treated with olanzapine alone(15±5)mg/d,combination group on the basis of olanzapine(15±5)mg/d,and with ginkgo leaves tablet 1.2g/d.The treatment lasted for 8 weeks.Beforetreatment and at the end of the 2nd,4th and 8th Week, the patients were monitored for blood lipid(TC,TG,LDL,HDL),Fasting Blood Glucose(FBG),Body Mass Index(BMI)Before treatment and at the end of the 2nd,4th and 8th week, patients were assessed with positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS)and treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS).Results:1.Blood lipid: In the single group,TG,TC and LDL at 4th weeks and 8th weeks were significance higher than those before treatment(P<0.05),the HDL were significance lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).In the combined group, the LDL and HDL had no significant change compared with those before treatment(P>0.05),the TG and TC were significance higher than those before treatment(P<0.05).Comparison of treatment in the same period, the TG,TC and LDL of the combined group were significance lower than the single group at the 8th weeks(P<0.05),and HDL was significance higher than those in the single group,(P<0.05).2.FBG : Compared with pre-treatment,FBG value of single group and combined group increased significantly and at the end of the 8th weeks, had significant difference(P<0.05).The FBG of the two groups had no significant change during the same period of treatment(P>0.05).3.BMI: Compared with pre-treatment,BMI value of single group and combined group increased significantly and at the end of the 8th weeks, had significant difference(P<0.05).The BMI of the two groups had no significant change during the same period of Treatment(P>0.05).4.PANSS: Compared with pre-treatment,the PANSS score of single group and combined group decreased significantly at the end of the 2nd,4th and 8th Weeks(P<0.05).During the same period of treatment,at the end of the 4th and 8th weeks, the combined group score was lower than the single group(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Patients with schizophrenia who took Olanzapine experienced varying degrees of changes in blood lipid levels, increased fasting blood glucose levels, weight gain, andMetabolic Syndrome.2.Ginkgo leaves tablet can improve Olanzapine’s abnormal lipid metabolism, and can enhance the clinical efficacy of antipsychotic.3.Ginkgo leaves tablet showed no significant improvement in blood glucose and weight gain induced by olanzapine. |
