Objective:The objective was to investigate the serum levels of periostin protein and transforming growth factor-?(TGF-?)in the patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation and non-atrial fibrillation.The objective was to analyze the relationship between periostin protein and TGF-? in the patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.Methods:We selected 61 patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation and 27 patients with non-AF enrolled in Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from March 2018 to March 2019.T test was used to analyze the difference of gender,age,personal history(including smoking,drinking),previous history(including hypertension,diabetes),laboratory indicators [total cholesterol(TC),triacylglycerol(TG),high-density lipoprotein(HDL),low-density lipoprotein(LDL),TGF-?,Periostin protein] and left atrial dimension between the two groups.Pearson correlation analysis was used to investigate the correlation between periostin protein,left atrial dimension and TGF-? in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the risk factors of nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.Results:The serum levels of periostin protein and TGF-? were higher in patients with nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation,the left atrial dimension was larger in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in male proportion,age,smoking rate,alcohol consumption rate,diabetes incidence,hypertension incidence,TC,TG,HDL and LDL in the two groups(P >0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that serum TGF-? was positively correlated with periostin protein and left atrial dimension(r = 0.366,0.302,P = 0.004,0.018);periostin protein was positively correlated with left atrial dimension(r = 0.320,P = 0.012).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that left atrial dimension and TGF-? were risk factors of nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.Conclusion:The serum levels of periostin protein and TGF-? were higher in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation,the left atrial dimension was larger in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.Serum TGF-? was positively correlated with periostin protein and left atrial dimension in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.Periostin protein was positively correlated with left atrial dimension in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.Left atrial dimension and TGF-? were risk factors of nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.
