Efficacy Of Saccharomyces Boulardii-supplemend Triple Therapy For Helicobacter Pylori Infection In Children:A Meta-analysis

Objective: This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the efficacy of Saccharomyces boulardi-supplemented triple therapy on H.pylori eradication rates and therapy-related side effects in children.Methods: Databases including PubMed 、 EMbase 、 The Cochrane Library、wanfang、VIP and CNKI were searched from inception to August2019 to collect randomized controlled trials(RCTs)about Saccharomyces boulardi-supplemented triple therapy on H.pylori in children.Two reviewers independently screened literature,extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of included studies.Then,meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3 software.Results: A total of 6 RCTs,involving 1114 patients were included.The results of meta-analysis showed that,compared with the control group,Saccharomyces boulardi can increase H.pylori eradication rates[OR=2.02,95%CI(1.48,2.76),p<0.00001],With respect to side effects,Saccharomyces boulardi supplementation significantly reduced theincidence of diarrhea[OR=0.42,95%CI(0.29,0.60),p<0.00001]、constipation[OR=0.35,95%CI(0.23,0.52),p < 0.00001] 、Stomatitis[OR=0.24,95%CI(0.13,0.43),p<0.00001].There were no significant differences in the incidence of nausea,Vomiting,bellyache between the two groups.Conclusion: Saccharomyces boulardi,as an adjunct to triple therapy,can increase H.pylori eradication rates as well as reduce the incidence of therapy-related diarrhea、constipation and Stomatitis in children.However,Due to the limited quality of included studies,more a large sample and high quality studies of randomized controlled trials are needed to verify the above conclusion.
