Clinical Efficacy And Mechanism Of Yuebi Plus Banxia Decoction On Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease(Phlegm-Heat Stagnation Syndrome In Lung)

Objective: To investigate the effect and possible mechanism of Yuebi plus Banxia Decoction on COPD(phlegm-heat depression syndrome in lung).Methods: Forty-six patients from the Department of Respiratory Medicine,Yongchuan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital,Chongqing Medical University,from December 2018 to December 2019,were divided into 3 groups: the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment group(n=18),the western medicine treatment group(n=17),and the traditional Chinese medicine treatment group(n=11).The patients in western medicine group adopted the conventional western medicine regimen,the combined traditional Chinese and western medicine group added Yuebi plus Banxia Decoction on the basis of the conventional western medicine,and the Chinese medicine group simply was orally treated with Yuebi plus Banxia Decoction.We recorded and analysized the vital signs,TCM symptom scores,Modified British Medical Research Council(mMRC)and COPD assessment test(CAT)scales of the three groups of patients.Fasting serums from patients before and after treatment were collected to determine(Extracellular regulated protein kinases)ERK and Nuclear Factor Kappa-B(NF-?B)concentration by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay(ELISA)method.Results: The results showed that the effective rate was 93.3% in the integrated of Chinese and Western medicine group,88.2% in the effective rate of Western medicine group,and 90.9% in traditional Chinese medicine group.In terms of changes in vital signs,the three groups showed significant changes before and after treatment(P<0.05),but the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group and traditional Chinese medicine group are more effective than the western medicine group.In terms of the mMRC and CAT evaluation scales,the three groups of patients all showed significant changes after treatment(P<0.05).In terms of Chinese medicine syndrome points,the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group can effectively relieve the symptoms of yellow phlegm and thirst in patients(P<0.05).Compared with the Western medicine control group,the serum ERK,NF-?B concentrations significantly decreased in the integrated of Chinese and Western medicine group and Chinese medicine group(P<0.05).Conclusion: Yuebi plus Banxia Decoction displays good therapeutic effect on COPD(phlegm-heat stagnation syndrome in lung),and its mechanism may involves in the reduction of serum ERK and NF-?B expression levels.
