Objective:The purpose of this study was to investigate the expression of TAMs in peripheral blood MDSCs and tumor tissues of lung cancer patients in non-small cell lung cancer patients in a low-oxygen environment at high altitude, and to preliminarily explore the relationship between TAMs and clinicopathological characteristics. Methods:Flow cytometry was used to calculate the level of MDSCs in patients’ peripheral blood. The TAMs counts in lung cancer tissues and lung benign lesion tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry.Results:1.The level of MDSCs in peripheral blood of patients with non-small cell lung cancer was significantly higher than that of the control group.Ⅰ、Ⅱ stage non-small cell lung cancer patients with peripheral blood MDSCs level significantly below Ⅲ、Ⅳ period. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).2.The level of MDSCs in peripheral blood of patients with non-small cell lung cancer was independent of histological type, pathological grade, tumor necrosis, age and gender.3.TAMs count of tumor island and tumor interstitium in non-small cell lung cancer tissues was lower than that in lung benign lesion tissues; The TAMs count of lung cancer tumor island was lower than that of tumor interstitium, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.Ⅲ、Ⅳ stage non-small cell lung cancer tumor island counting macrophages and tumor/tumor interstitial macrophages ratio below Ⅰ、Ⅱ patients; At the same time,Ⅰ、Ⅱ stage non-small cell lung cancer tumor interstitial macrophages count below Ⅲ、Ⅳ period patients, differences were significant(P < 0.001).Conclusion:1.The level of MDSCs in peripheral blood of patients with non-small cell lung cancer was significantly increased, suggesting that the patients may be in a state of immunosuppression.2.The level of MDSCs in peripheral blood of patients with non-small cell lung cancer may be related to the poor prognosis of patients.3.There are a certain number of macrophages in non-small cell lung cancer and lung benign lesion tissues with different distribution; The distribution of TAMs in non-small cell lung cancer tissues may also be different: tumor island TAMs invasion has an anti-tumor immune effect, while tumor interstitial TAMs invasion may have a negative effect on promoting tumor growth.4.Increased TAMs count in tumor island of non-small cell lung cancer and increased TAMs ratio in tumor island/tumor stroma may indicate good prognosis of patients, while increased TAMs count in tumor stroma may indicate poor prognosis of patients.
