Objective To observe the changes of PLR in patients with metabolic syndrome, analyze the factors affecting PLR and the relationship between PLR and target organ damage in patients with metabolic syndrome. Methods According to the inclusion criteria,a total of 52 cases in the normal control group,54 cases in the metabolic syndrome group, and 51 cases in the metabolic syndrome with hypertension group were selected.Abdominal circumference, height, weight and blood pressure were measured under uniform conditions for all subjects, and body mass index was calculated based on height and weight. All the research object in the morning on an empty stomach to measure peripheral blood platelet count, lymphocyte count, peripheral blood high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, total cholesterol, fasting blood glucose, serum creatinine, and calculate the platelet to lymphocyte ratio and glomerular filtration rate.Left ventricular ejection fraction, left ventricular supraventricular diameter, ventricular septum end-diastolic thickness, and left ventricular posterior wall end-diastolic thickness were measured with echocardiographic diagnostic instrument. All subjects were assessed with a color doppler ultrasound of the neck vessels to determine the internal media thickness of the carotid artery.Results(1)There were no statistically significant differences in gender, age andTC between the normal control group,MS group and HMS group(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the abdominal circumference,BMI,SBP,DBP,TG,LDL-C,FBG in MS group and HMS group were increased,HDL-C were reduced.(2)There were significant differences in PLR,PLT and LYM between the normal control group,MS group and HMS group(p<0.05).Compared with the MS group, the PLR in the HMS group was further increased(P<0.05),and there was no statistical difference between PLT and LYM(P>0.05).(3)The results of PLR and components of metabolic syndrome of the linear correlation analysis showed that PLR was positively correlated with BMI,abdominal circumference,SBP and FBG,and negatively correlated with HDL-C(P<0.05),but not with age,DBP,TG,TC and LDL-C(P>0.05).The independent sample t-test results of PLR and gender showed that there was no significant difference in PLR level between males and females(P>0.05),and PLR was not related to gender.Further binary Logistic regression analysis of PLR showed that the influencing factors of PLR were the abdominal circumference and FBG(P<0.05).(3)LVDd,LVPWT,IVST,IMT,LVMI,Scr and eGFR were different in the three groups(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in EF between the three groups(P>0.05).Compared with the control group,LVDd,IVST,LVPWT,LVMI,Scr and IMT were significantly increased and eGFR was significantly reduced in MS group and HMS group(P<0.05).Compared with the MS group,LVMI and IMT were significantly increased and eGFR was significantly reduced in the HMS group(P<0.05).LVDd,IVST,LVPWT and Scr did not change significantly in the HMS group compared with the MS group(P>0.05).(4)The linear correlation between PLR and the indicators of target organ damage showed that PLR was positively correlated with LVMI and IMT,but negatively correlated with eGFR(P<0.05),and was not correlated with LVDd,IVST,LVPWT,EF and Scr(P>0.05).(5)Binary Logisticregression analysis of target organ damage showed that PLR,SBP and BMI were independent predictors of left ventricular hypertrophy(P<0.05).PLR,SBP and DBP were independent predictors of carotid intima-media thickening(P<0.05),and HDL-C may be protective factors for carotid intima thickness.SBP is an independent risk factor for glomerular filtration rate reduction, and HDL-C may be a protective factor for glomerular filtration rate(P<0.05).Conclusion(1)PLR was significantly increased in patients with metabolic syndrome.(2)The abdominal circumference and fasting blood glucose were influencing factors of PLR;(3)PLR is closely related to left ventricular hypertrophy and carotid medial media thickening in patients with metabolic syndrome.
