With the development of medical science, technology and the progress of health care policy reform, hospitals are making new achievements in the advancements of the medical Informationization.Acute cerebrovascular diseases such as stroke have become the most disabling disease and the second most deadly disease for human beings due to their extremely high disabling and fatality rates, which is mainly caused by their acute onset and poor prognosis.Timely treatment plays a key role in rescuing stroke patents, and therefore it is key to conduct reperfusion therapy in the early stage to recover the reversable cerebral injury. And the state also requires accurate timing of the stroke rescue process. The author developed and implemented a management system for rescuing stroke patents in the first-aid scenario by leveraging the key nodes in the rescue path based on several key information technologies including RFID sensors and wristbands. The system is designed using a standardized process in reference to the practical scenarios for stroke patents. The system consists of three subsystems including(1)a fir st-aid quality-control platform;(2)a green-channel flow management platform;(3)a RFID time sampling platform;(4)a workflow integration platform;(5)a stroke data reporting platform. The subsystems leverage the power efficient wearable sensor devices to record the critical time frame data during the first-aid process for stroke patents, which provides critical data basis for the rescuing process. The major contributions of this work include:(1)We solved the problem by leveraging associated information technologies that there was no way before to record critical time snapshots for the stroke first-aid process. The proposed work is novel in the stroke first-aid field with regard to its contributions in both the improvement in treatment rate and the standardization of the treatment behavior.(2)Design and implementation of a novel data refinement system that improves the stroke treatment rate by analyzing the collected data in a comprehensive report. The comprehensive report is generated by feeding collected data as input to the algorithms published by the national stroke control committee for evaluating various stroke indicators. These collected data consist of critical time snapshots data during the stroke first-aid process and the preliminary data of the patents(such as the stroke history and family history data).(3)The data collected by the proposed system will be aggregated to the national-level stroke database, serving as a data source used for stroke data analysis at the national level.Design and implementation of a novel data refinement management and service system that improves the stroke treatment rate by collecting real-time data during the stroke first-aid process. The collected real-time data(such as the patents' sign data and medical data at onset),combined with the preliminary data of the patents(such as the stroke history and family history data),is used as inputs to the algorithms published by the national stroke control committee to calculate various indicators. The system is shown to have significantly improved the stroke treatment for a grade-A tertiary hospital in Shanghai since its deployment there, which further meeting the needs of the state for the management of stroke patients' treatment time and indicating its role of demonstration for the stroke first-aid work in other hospitals and its positive impact on the advancement of stroke treatment across the nation.
