ObjectivesThis study compared and observed the effects of Ganji Prescription combined with Western medicine treatment on clinical efficacies(consist of TCM syndromes,KPS,solid tumor response and progression-free survival)and laboratory indexes(consist of liver function,alpha-fetoprotein,and cellular immunological indexes)of hepatitis B related liver-yu with spleen-deficiency syndrome in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma,so as to provide reference for the treatment of liver cancer patients with traditional Chinese medicine.MethodsAccording to inclusion and exclusion criteria, qualified outpatients and inpatients with total number of 60 were selected from departments of hepatology and oncology,Fuzhou hospital of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine,Fujian province, and divided equally into the treatment group and observation group by method of random distribution. The treatment group was treated with western medicine only, and the observation group was treated with Ganji Prescription on the basis of the control group. The course of treatment was 3 months, the relevant clinical and test indicators were observed, and regular follow-up was conducted.Results(1)In this study,P values of the two groups in age, gender, class of liver function, and cancer staging were all greater than 0.05,and the difference was of statistically significant.(2)Clinical efficacies(main observation indicators):In terms of TCM syndrome score,P> 0.05 was compared between the two groups before treatment, and the difference was not statistically significant. After treatment, the P value between and within the two groups was less than 0.05,the difference was statistically significant. The effective rate of TCM syndrome in the observation group was 85.19%,which was significantly higher than 55.17% in the treatment group.Secondly, the observation group was better than the treatment group in improving the KPS score, improving the efficacy of solid tumors and prolonging the progression-free survival of patients. All comparisons between groups showed a statistical difference of P<0.05.(3)Laboratory indicators(secondary observational indicators):In terms of liver function, comparison in the two groups: after treatment, the liver function in each stage of the two groups was improved compared with that before,P < 0.05.Comparison between groups: there was no significant difference in treatment effect between the two groups(P>0.05).In terms of AFP comparison, there was no significant change of alpha-fetoprotein between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).(4)Cellular immunological indicators(mechanism exploration):CD4+CD25+FoxP3+Treg in the observation group decreased after treatment compared with that before treatment(P<0.05),showing statistically significant differences. There was no significant difference in CD4+CD25+FoxP3+Treg data before and after treatment in the treatment group(P>0.05).ConclusionIn terms of clinical efficacies, the combination of Ganji Prescription and western medicine can alleviate the TCM symptoms of hepatocellular carcinoma patients with hepatitis B related liver-yu with spleen-deficiency syndrome, improve the KPS score of patients, and stabilize the tumor.Secondly, the mechanism of the above improvement may be related to the immune effect of traditional Chinese medicine on the body.
