Objective: Through the statistical analysis of the scoliosis screening results of more than 1000 primary and secondary school students,to find out whether there is an internal relationship between the external body shape and the occurrence of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, and to explore the related risk factors of scoliosis,so as to provide a new idea for the future screening and Prevention of scoliosis in youth. Methods: 1453 students of grade 5-8 from four primary and secondary schools in and around Wuhan were selected, including 790 boys and 663 girls, aged 10-14.At last, according to the screening data, the results were analyzed to explore the correlation between scoliosis and body shape.Results:(1)Among 1453 students,85 were found scoliosis, the detection rate was 5.85%,and in the 12-14 age stage, the rate was significantly higher than other age stages.(2)Of the 790 male students,41 had scoliosis, with a detection rate of 5.19%;Of the 663 girls,44 had scoliosis, with a detection rate of 6.64%.(3)In statistics of body mass index and scoliosis results, the detection rate of scoliosis was 10.06% when BMI was less than 18,and 2.7% when BMI was more than 18.(4)According to the results of scoliosis in different parts and directions, there are significant differences in the direction of thoracolumbar and lumbar scoliosis between different genders, and males are more likely to turn right.(5)In the statistical analysis of the correlation between body shape and scoliosis, there were differences in the occurrence of scoliosis(P < 0.01),which indicated that these five factors were related to scoliosis. The factors with statistical differences in the above single factor analysis were used as independent variables, scoliosis as dependent variables, and binary logistic regression analysis was used.According to statistics, there was a significant difference(P < 0.05)between the unequal height of shoulders and the midline of spinous process. At the same time, the OR value of unequal height of shoulders was 2.081,and the OR value of midline of spinous process was 9.504.Conclusion:(1)The results showed that there was an intrinsic correlation between the isometric features of shoulders, symmetrical scapular, isometric scapular of both sides, symmetrical lumbar fossa and median of spinous process and the occurrence of scoliosis in body shape, which was accurate, efficient, convenient and fast for the physical examination of the primary screening of scoliosis.(2)Independent risk factors associated with idiopathic scoliosis in adolescents included unequal shoulder height and misalignment of spines. These two items are highly correlated with the occurrence of scoliosis, which can be used in daily life to prompt parents and schools to detect spinal abnormalities in children earlier.
