A Study On The Relationship Between Gastric Antrum Mucosa Strip Hyperemia And Symptoms As Well As Serous 5-HT Level

Strip hyperemia of gastric antrum mucosa could be seen by upper gastrointestinal endoscopy in some patients with dyspepsia,but its clinical significance is unknown.To investigate the correlation between endoscopic strip hyperemia of gastric antrum mucosa,serum 5-ht level and symptoms of dyspepsia.In During January 2016-August 2017,the continuous patients in our hospital who accepting gastroscopy due to their dyspepsia symptoms,only with mild distal gastric mucosal inflammation were found,and were diagnosed as FD were recruited in this study.The patients was divided into two groups according to being with or without strip hyperemia at gastric antrum mucosa.The gastrointestinal symptoms rating scale(GSRS),self-rating anxiety scale(HAMA)and Hamilton self-evaluation of Hamilton depression scale(HAMD)scores and patients' serum level of 5-HT were assessed and the averages were compared.A total of 88 patients who met the inclusion criteria were collected,including 23 with strip hyperemia and 65 without strip hyperemia.There was no significant difference in GSRS,HAMA and HAMD scores between the two groups(P < 0.05).Serum 5-HT level was significantly higher in the strip hyperemia group than in the control group(26.95-111.25 ug/L,71.27(+18.99 ug/L);50.25-96.15 ug/L,59.75(+13.12 ug/L),t=3.198,P < 0.01).ROC curve analysis showed that AUC was 0.700(95% Cl: 0.571-0.830,P < 0.05),sensitivity was 73.9%,specificity was 63.1%.Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that serum 5-HT level was an independent risk factor for strip hyperemia at gastric antrum mucosa in patients with functional dyspepsia(P < 0.05).Our conclusions are:in patients with functional dyspepsia,the manifestation of strip hyperemia at gastric antrum mucosa was accompanied by an increase in serum 5-HT level.However,it has no implication for the severity of clinical symptoms and the degree of inflammation accompanied by depression,anxiety.
