Objective: To investigate the relationship between metabolic syndrome(MS)and prostate cancer. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 390 cases of patients with prostate cancer and prostatic hyperplasia who met the requirements of this study and were pathologically diagnosed from January 2014 to April 2019 in our hospital.Clinical data of the patients were collected, including age,height,weight,prostate-specific antigen(tPSA),serum testosterone(TT),serum c-reactive protein(CRP),prostate volume(PV),Gleason score, blood pressure(BP),fasting blood glucose(FBG),triglyceride(TG)and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C).Results: Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in MS(?(28)0.752)and tPSA(?(28)0.139)between prostate cancer and prostatic hyperplasia group(P(27)0.05),while there were no statistically significant differences in systolic blood pressure and CRP(P(29)0.05).Among prostate cancerpatients, multivariate logistic regression analysis suggested that tPSA(?(28)0.004)showed statistically significant difference between the Gleason?7 group and the Gleason(29)7 group(P(27)0.05),while MS,systolic blood pressure,CRP and PV showed no statistical significance(P(29)0.05).Conclusions: MS may be a risk factor for prostate cancer.MS had no significant correlation with the malignancy of prostate cancer.
