Resource Investigation And Quality Evaluation Of Arisaematis Rhizoma In Fujian Province

Objective:(1)To clarify the origin,producing area,harvesting time and the change of processing methods of Arisaema rhizoma by herbal textual research,so as to provide the basis for the rational utilization of resources.(2)To clarify origin.current situation of market circulation and the distribution of resources of it through resource investigation.(3)To clarify the identification methods and quality status of it through qualitative and quantitative evaluation,which provide basis for clinical application reasonably.Methods:(1)The records of name,origin,producing area and processing method were sorted out and summarized from the ancient Chinese herbs and medical books,and some local records.(2): Literature investigation,market investigation and field investigation were applied to resource investigation research.(3)Appearance character description ? TLC and HPLC fingerprint were applied to qualitative reseach.The content of water,ash,extract and total flavone were determined by methods in Ch.P.And the content of schaftoside and isoschaftoside was determined by HPLC.Finally,the quality of collected samples was evaluated by principal component analysis on the basis of the content determination above.Results:(1)Textual research: Arisaematis rhizoma appeared in “Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing”in the name of “Hu Zhang” for the first time.Its name of ”Tian Nan Xing” was first recorded in “Ben Cao Shi Yi”.And there are some alias bolong to it such as “Hu Zhang”?”Nan Xing”.The orange of Arisaematis rhizoma is very complex,whose main sources plants include Arisaema.heterophyllum and A erubescens of Arisaema,Pinellia pedatisecta of Pinellia.And other plants of the same family are often used as local substitutes.It is widely distributed from north to south,without clear genuine producing area.There are differences between ancient and modern ways of harvesting and processing.There are relevant records of it in Fujian local chronicles.(2)Resource investigation: Arisaematis rhizoma sold in the market is very chaotic.There are two main types of the current varieties on market,one is the wild resources mainly composed of A.heterophyllum and A erubescens of Arisaema,whose main production areas are Yunan province,Guzhou province and Sichuan province.The other is P.pedatisecta of Pinellia,which produced in Shandong province,Henan province and other places.The wild resource in Fujian is mainly composed of A.heterophyllum and A erubescens,which are widely distributed in the West and north of Fujian and often grows on the edge of shady mountain road and forest edge.(3)Quality evaluation: The study of the quality of Arisaematis rhizoma from 8 provinces shows that,its quality of Sichuan province is the best,Fujian province's takes the second place.What's more,its quality of Pucheng county is the best in Fujian Province.And its quality from different original plants is also different,the best is medicinal materials from A erubescens,the second is medicinal materials from A.heterophyllum,and the worst is medicinal materials from A.amurense.There are differences in quality under different harvesting time.The best collection time of A.heterophyllum is June andthat of A erubescens which is August.Conclusion: Arisaematis rhizoma is of long history of medication and there is no clear genuine producing area.There are more than one origin of it,the main origins are basically the same.But whether P.pedatisecta and others can replace it needs to be further confirmed and studied.The resources in Fujian province are all those in Ch.P.,which are rich in resources.The results of qualitative and quantitative evaluation show that the quality of them produced in Fujian province from June to August is better.
