Objective: To discusses the pathogen composition and epidemic characteristics of children viral encephalitis in Hebei children's hospital, and provides scientific basis for the monitoring and prevention of viral encephalitis in shijiazhuang city. Methods: A total of 127 hospitalized children diagnosed with viral encephalitis in department one of neurology,Hebei children's hospital from April 2018 to December 2018 were studied.Firstly, the general data and clinical characteristics of the children were analyzed retrospectively.Secondly, the method of reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(rt-pcr)combined with gene sequencing was used to detect the viral etiological nucleic acid in the cerebrospinal fluid of children and determine the virus type.Mainly testing the following six kinds of virus, herpes simplex virus type ?(HSV-?),herpes simplex virus type(HSV ?-?),-varicella zoster virus(VZV),coxsackie virus type 16 group A(CVA16),enterovirus 71(EV-71),enterovirus(EV).Epidata was used for data entry and SPSS 22.0 software was used for statistical analysis.P<0.05 was considered as statistically significant.Results:1.General information of children: the ratio of male to female was 1.35.1,but there was no statistical difference in the gender composition of children in each age group(chi-square value =0.478,P=0.973).There were 59 cases(46.46%)in the 3-6 age group, accounting for the largest proportion, and 2 cases(1.57%)in the infant group, accounting for the smallest proportion.44.09% of the children were from cities. Most cases are concentrated in summer and autumn.2.Clinical symptoms and signs: among the 127 cases,119 cases had fever, accounting for up to 95.28%.Most of them had body temperature between 38.0 and 39.0(63.78%).Most of the? ? children had headache and vomiting, accounting for 85.83% and 72.44% respectively. In addition, drowsiness was found in 17 children(13.39%)and neck stiffness in 6 children(4.72%),but no positive pap sign was found.3.Virus detection: pathogenic detection was carried out on cerebrospinal fluid specimens of 127 children, and 79 cases were successfully detected, with a total detection rate of 62.20%.There were 77 cases of EV virus and 2 cases of VZV2 virus.Other viruses(hsv-1,hsv-2,ev-71,CVA16)were not detected. The EV virus detection rate was highest in the age group of 1-3 years(70.00%),but overall, there was no significant difference in EV virus detection rate among the four age groups(chi-square value =0.836,P=0.658).EV virus detection rate in summer and autumn(64.77% in summer and 72.73% in autumn)was significantly higher than that in spring and winter(37.50% in spring and 11.11% in winter),and there was a statistical difference(chi-square value =0.836,P=0.004).Conclusions:1.There is no gender difference in the risk of viral encephalitis in children hospitalized in hebei children's hospital, and the incidence is high in the age group of 3-6 years old.2.Clinical symptoms include fever, headache and vomiting, and drowsiness and stiff neck appeared in some children.3.Enterovirus is the main pathogen of children viral encephalitis in shijiazhuang city, hebei province. There is no difference in the virus detection rate among all age groups.
