Objective1.Based on the BCW theory, the contents of health education with evidence-based,standardized and individualized characteristics applied to OSAHS patients were formulated to explore more convenient and effective ways and methods of health education in modern social life.2.This study is to explore the influence and effect of health education based on BCW theory on the living behavior of moderate and severe OSAHS patients, the mastery of disease-related knowledge, daytime sleepiness, sleep quality, life quality and self-efficacy,so as to provide new ideas and references for related researches in the future.MethodsThis study is an experimental study.First, according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, this study takes the convenience sampling method to select 90 cases of hospitalized patients with moderate and severe OSAHS,and those patients were in a certain level of first-class comprehensive hospital sleep center of Inner Mongolia from February to November,2019.Second,through PSG monitoring, those patients are diagnosed with moderate and severe OSAHS based on the guidelines from Obstructive Sleep Apnea-hypopnea Syndrome diagnosis standard(version 2011).The patients were numbered in the order of admission(0 ? 90),with the odd group as the experimental group and the even group as the control group(45 cases each group). The control group implemented routine health education measures, while the experimental group applied BCW theory-based health education measures on the basis of routine health education measures. Two groups take questionnaire investigation methods to carry out the effects evaluation before intervention and after one month of intervention respectively.Evaluation tools include: general data questionnaire,Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS),Apnea Knowledge Test(AKT),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Quebec Sleep Questionnaire(QSQ),Chinese Version of Self-efficacy Measure for Sleep Apnea(C-SEMSA).After the questionnaires were collected, the completeness and validity were checked again, and each questionnaire was numbered.Epi Data3.1 was used for entry verification, and SPSS25.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results1.Current status of OSAHS patients: the results showed that OSAHS patients were mainly middle-aged and elderly male patients. And the patients generally had daytime sleepiness, low disease cognition and self-efficacy,and poor sleep quality and quality of life.2.Comparison of the basic conditions of the two groups before intervention: the general demographic data, clinical data, behavioral data and OSAHS specific questionnaire scores of the two groups showed no significant difference, indicating that the two groups were comparable(P >0.05).3.After intervention, the difference between the control groups in AKT score and self-efficacy risk perception score was statistically significant(P<0.05);in the experimental group, the differences in BMI,waist-to-hip ratio, various behaviors, nocturia status and frequency,AKT score,ESS score,PSQI score,QSQ total score, daytime sleepiness, daytime symptoms and nighttime symptoms were also statistically significant(P<0.05);When comparing the evaluation indexes between the two groups, except the two dimensions of neck circumference and emotion and social interaction in the QSQ scale, the differences were statistically significant as well(P<0.05),and the experimental group was significantly better than the control group.Conclusion1.Based on the theoretical framework of BCW,this study developed an evidence-based,standardized and individualized health education content suitable for patients with moderate and severe OSAHS.2.Health education based on the theory of the BCW compared with routine nursing health education, the former can greatly improve the cognitive level for moderate and severe OSAHS patients, improve the patient's self-efficacy,arouse the patient's subjective initiative, actively cooperate with treatment, promote the change of health behavior and maintaining, and effectively reduce the OSAHS patients with BMI and waist hip ratio, and improve daytime sleepiness in patients, daytime symptom, nighttime symptom, the sleep quality and the quality of life.3.This study has proved that the health education content based on BCW theory is effective, convenient and practical, and has explored new approaches and methods of health education for patients with moderate and severe OSAHS,providing new ideas and references for related studies in the future and worthy of clinical promotion and application.
