Objective: By comparing the edge signal features such as T2 hypointensity of the surface layer,T2 hyperintensity rim that can be enhanced and other imaging features of meningioma with different degrees of surgical cleavability.To improve the ability of preoperative MRI to predict the difficulty of cleavability of meningioma during operation.Methods:Four kinds of tumor edge signal characteristics,including T2 hypointensity of the surface layer(HSL),T2 hyperintensity rim that can be enhanced,Cerebro-spinal fluid space(CSF space),pseudocapsule enhancement,and six additional imaging features including tumor size,peritumor brain edema(PTBE),tumor shape,enhancement uniformity,meningeal tail sign,adjacent bone changes were retrospectively analyzed in 126 patients with type I meningioma and 96 patients with II meningioma.Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis was utilized to analyze the overhead signs.Results:There was a correlation between the T2 hyperintensity rim that can be enhanced,HSL and the surgical cleavability of meningioma(P<0.05).There was not any correlation between CSF space,pseudocapsule enhancement and the cleavage of meningioma(P>0.05);in other signs,there was a correlation between PTBE,enhanced uniformity and the cleavage of meningioma(P<0.05).There was no correlation between tumor size,tumor shape,meningeal tail sign,adjacent bone quality and cleavage of meningioma(P>0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that the appearance of HSL features suggests good resolution during meningioma surgery(OR=0.086,P=0.000).Conclusion:The T2 hyperintensity rim that can be enhanced and HSL may be a new method to predict the cleavage of meningioma.Among them,HSL is more advantageous in foreseeing cleavage of meningioma.The presence of HSL indicates meningioma there may be a good surgical separation interface,and the the T2 hyperintensity rim that can be enhanced may indicate that there is not a good surgical separation interface;we should carefully observe and analyze these signs of meningioma-brain interface during MRI examination of meningioma before surgery.
