Objective: To investigate the dietary nutrition status and health status of the residents in the key areas of Huaihe river basin,and to explore the correlation between it and the occurrence of chronic diseases,so as to provide scientific basis for the health prevention and treatment of the residents in the Huaihe river basin.Methods: Taking 170 residents of 63 households in the Huaihe river basin(including Yiqiao village,Yangzhuang township,and Lin hu village,Lan xi village,Langan Township,Yongqiao District,Suzhou City,Anhui Province;Mojian village,Gusang Township and Zhaosi village Tiefo Township,Xuyi County,Huaian City,Jiangsu Province)as the investigation object,the basic situation,dietary structure and health status of their family members were investigated by the typical sampling method.Taking the family as a unit,the consumption of food and condiments,the number of meals,and the daily food intake of each person during the 3-day survey period were accurately understood by weighing method and combined with the interrogation method.Meanwhile,the population was given a physical examination.The basic data of the investigated residents and the above survey contents are recorded and kept in the form of questionnaire.Nutrition star expert system software and Excel software were used for data entry,and SPSS 19.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results:1.The median intake of edible oil in key areas of Huaihe river basin was 26.85g/d,which reached the recommended amount of dietary guidelines;The median intake of vegetables,fruits,livestock and poultry meat,aquatic products,eggs,milk and dairy products was 193.45g/d,0.00g/d,25.07g/d,13.68g/d,9.73g/d,0.00g/d,respectively,all below the recommended dietary guidelines.The median intakes of cereals,beans,nuts and salt were 589.38g/d,39.07g/d,11.58g/d,respectively,which were higher than the recommended dietary guidelines;2.The intake levels of energy,protein,fat,carbohydrate,nicotinic acid,vitamin E and iron of the residents of this region all reach or exceed the appropriate range when compared with the reference intake of nutrients of Chinese residents;The intake levels of vitamin A,B1,B2,C,calcium,zinc and selenium in different age groups were lower than the recommended or appropriate intake levels(RNI or AI).The level of sodium intake was more than 2 times of the appropriate intake,and some were even close to 3 times;3.The proportion of protein from cereals(59.00%)was higher than that of animal foods(20.01%);The proportion of fat from plant food(76.80%)was higher than that from animal food(23.20%);4.The energy ratio of protein,fat and carbohydrate is reasonable;5.The prevalence rates of hypertension,diabetes and dyslipidemia were 17.69%,2.04% and 9.52%,respectively,among adults aged 18 and over in the key areas of the Huaihe river basin.Conclusions:1.Compared with the dietary guidelines,there were many irrationalities in the dietary structure of residents in key areas of Huaihe river basin.2.The energy and macronutrient intake of the residents in the survey area was relatively adequate,while the intake of multivitamins and minerals was insufficient.3.In the dietary structure of the residents in the investigated areas,the intake of cereals and potatoes is relatively high,while the intake of animal protein(milk and dairy products,eggs,livestock and poultry meat,aquatic products)is relatively low,which may be associated with a low prevalence of nutrition-related chronic diseases.
