Objectives To evaluate the clinical effect of tongue acupuncture combined with point pricking posterior pharyngeal wall in the treatment of cough after stroke. Methods According to the inclusion criteria,84 patients cases with post-stroke cough were selected enrolled from the clinic, and were divided into two groups according to the table of random Numbers, with 42 cases in each group. In the trial group, three tongue needles were used to Pierce the posterior pharyngeal wall, including tongue needles and posterior pharyngeal wall.In the control group,lianquan(CV23),fengchi(GB20),wangu(GB12),tongli(HT5),zhaohai(KI6),hegu(LI4)and taichong(LR3)were taken routinely. The changes of whether the drinking water stopped, whether the drinking water choked, the number of choking, the time of drinking water used, the grading and the score of standard swallowing function rating scale before and after treatment were observed, and the comparison was made to evaluate the curative effect. Results Results for the trial group and the control group showed improvement in treating cough after stroke.According to the total effective rate calculated from the drinking water test in the depression field, the trial group was 95.2% and the control group was 78.6%,P=0.001<0.05,indicating that the treatment in the trial group was superior to that in the control group.According to the SSA score, the total effective rate was calculated as 95.2% in the trial group and 83.3% in the control group,P=0.013<0.05,which showed significant difference and statistical significance, indicating that the treatment in the trial group was stronger than that in the control group. Conclusions The results showed that the combination of three tongue needles and point acupuncture on the posterior pharyngeal wall could improve the cough symptoms of patients, and the treatment of three tongue needles and point acupuncture on the posterior pharyngeal wall after stroke was stronger than the treatment of acupuncture on the posterior pharyngeal wall after stroke, which was worthy of clinical application.Figure 0;Table16;Reference109.
