Objective:By retrospectively comparing the differences between Metagenomics next-generation sequencing(mNGS)and traditional pathogen detection methods in bronchoalveolar lavage(BALF)specimens,the application value of mNGS in pulmonary infection was evaluated.Methods:Collected 40 patients diagnosed with pulmonary infectious diseases admitted to our hospital from January to September 2019,and divided them into 20 cases of severe pneumonia group and 20 cases of non-severe pneumonia group.Collect their general clinical data and dynamic data of inflammation indicators,BALF specimens after bronchoscopy were submitted for mNGS and traditional pathogen detection at the same time,the detection rate of microorganisms and pathogen positive results were compared in mNGS group and traditional detection group,and related factors of pneumonia risk classification were counted.Results:mNGS can detect and identify multiple microorganisms at the same time,and the types and number of microorganisms detected by mNGS are more than those of traditional methods,The detection sensitivity of mNGS pathogens is higher than that of traditional detection methods.Of the 23 samples that were negative for traditional pathogen detection,17 were positive for mNGS.After mNGS combined with traditional tests to guide drug treatment,the inflammation index WBC decreased significantly(P<0.05),and N% and CRP decreased significantly(P <0.001).Finally,in a comparative analysis of the risk-related factors of pneumonia,it was found that the severe pneumonia group and the non-severe pneumonia group had significant statistical differences in the basic disease history,CRP and N%(P <0.05).Conclusions:mNGS is superior to the traditional detection group in the detection of microorganisms and the identification of pathogens,and the effect is obvious when combined with traditional detection guidance drugs.In addition,the history of underlying diseases,CRP,and N% are related factors that affect the risk grade of pneumonia in patients.
