The Morphology And Incidence Of Psoas Minor Muscle In Chinese Women Were Researched By Laparoscopy

Objective: The psoas minor muscle(PMM)arises from the transverse process of thoracic vertebra 12 and lumbar vertebra 1,passing through the inguinal ligament and ending at superior pelvic brim.And the incidence of the PMM varies with race.However,there is no clinical study on the incidence of PMM in yellow people.According to our current clinical experience,the insertion of psoas minor tendon at the pelvic brim plays an important role in the safe area of screw implantation in acetabular fracture internal fixation.This study attempts to research the incidence of PMM in yellow people by laparoscopic exploration.Materials and Methods: We selected patients with gynecological cancer who needed laparoscopic pelvic tumor resection and lymphadenectomy.Then we observed their operation process.We observed and recorded whether the anatomical structure of PMM appeared in the process of lymphadenectomy.Results: This study included 40 cases of gynecological tumor.Ther e were 11 patients without PMM on both sides(27.5%),2 patients with PMM on the left(5.0%),11 patients with PMM on the right(27.5%),16 patients with PMM on both sides(40.0%).In conclusion,29 patien ts(including only one side and two sides)had PMM(72.5%).Conclusions: In the yellow race,the incidence of psoas minor mus cle in adult women is 56.3%.
