Objective To study the effect of pretreatment with Oral contraceptives(OC)on outcomes in patients with normal ovarian function who received long term IVF-ET.Methods A total of 3022 patients who were admitted to the reproductive center of Suzhou Municipal Hospital for IVF/ICSI-ET cycle between January 1,2018 and December31,2018 were enrolled.According to whether the patients received OC pretreatment or not, they were divided into OC pretreatment group(n=2522)and control group(n=500).Gn dosage, number of eggs obtained, fertilization rate, embryo condition and pregnancy outcome after transplantation were compared between the two groups.Results1.During ovulation induction,Gn days in the OC pretreatment group(10.266±1.806 vs.9.793±1.860,P<0.001)were longer than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant.Compared with the control group, the priming(148.944±46.363 vs.166.16±57.911,P<0.001)and total Gn dosage of OC pretreatment group was significantly lower(640.189±660.4120 vs.1706.083±728.9563,P=0.035).2.On HCG days, the OC pretreatment group had lower endometrial thickness than the control group(9.878±2.4682 vs.10.671±2.4956,P<0.001).There were no significant differences between OC pretreatment group and control group in the number of obtained eggs(12.343±5.4755 vs.12.175±5.3225),qualified eggs(12.343±5.4755 vs.12.175±5.3225),ICSI fertilization rate(72.8% vs.72.3%),number of transplantable embryos and number of high-quality embryos(4.50±3.455 vs.4.23±3.085).However,the IVF fertilization rate(67.9% vs.65.8%)in the OC pretreatment group was higher than that in the control group.3.Compared with the fresh cycle embryo transfer results, there were no significant differences between two groups in biochemical pregnancy rate(59.0% vs.63.1%),clinical pregnancy rate(50.6% vs.56.0%),early abortion rate(15.2% vs.11.2%)and live birth rate(38.7% vs.40.5%).The planting rate of OC pretreatment group(34.1%vs.39.9%)was significantly lower than control group.4.There were no significant differences in biochemical pregnancy rate(63.0% vs.57.1%),implantation rate(38.0% vs.36.3%),clinical pregnancy rate(51.4% vs.50.8%),early abortion rate(18.9% vs.16.3%)and live birth rate(32.2% vs.31.5%)between the OC pretreatment group and the control group after fresh cycle transplantation Conclusion1.For patients with normal ovarian function,OC pretreatment before the long protocol can reduce the implantation rate after fresh embryo transplantation, but has no significant effect on biochemical pregnancy rate, clinical pregnancy rate, abortion rate and live birth rate.2.OC pretreatment has no significant effect on the pregnancy outcome of resuscitation cycle transplantation3.Compared with the control group, the OC pretreatment group has lower intrauterine thickness and serum LH level on HCG days...
