Objectives The effects of probiotics on some cardiovascular risk factors including uric acid, low density lipoprotein, total cholesterol, bile acid and blood sugar were investigated in elderly patients with coronary heart disease. Methods From July 2019 to January 2020,35 elderly patients with coronary heart disease(21 males and 14 females)were selected among the inpatients in the department of geriatrics of Hebei people's hospital.Serum samples of subjects who had been fasting for more than 8 hours in the morning before and after the experiment were collected.Uric acid,LDL,total cholesterol and bile acid were measured before and after the intervention, and general data of subjects were collected.Probiotic interventions were administered and measured at the beginning and end of the trial. Results The uric acid level of the subjects was 328.42±74.72umol/L before and 299.55±69.83umol/L after taking the probiotics, and was analyzed by paired t-test.The difference between the two groups was 28.87±56.90umol/L,t=3.00,(P < 0.05).The total cholesterol level was 4.27±1.30mmol/L before and 3.65±0.98mmol/L after taking the probiotics. The difference between the two groups was 0.62±0.80mmol/L before and after taking the probiotics,t=4.63(P < 0.05).The LDL level of the subjects was 2.57±0.90mmol/L before and 2.27±0.65 mmol/L after taking the probiotics. The difference before and after the intervention was 0.35±0.70mmol/L after the paired t-test analysis,t=2.97(P < 0.05),showing a statistical difference. The fasting blood glucose level was 5.89±1.70mmol/L before and 5.79±1.59 mmol/L after the probiotics. The difference before and after the probiotics was 0.10±0.86mmol/L,t=0.69(P > 0.05),and there was no statistical difference. The level of bile acid was 5.18±3.16mmol/L before and 4.04±2.28mmol/L after intervention, and the median difference between bile acid levels before and after intervention was 0,suggesting that there was no significant effect on bile acid levels before and after probiotics intervention. Conclusions Probiotics can improve cardiovascular risk factors in elderly patients with coronary heart disease, among which the levels of LDL,total cholesterol and uric acid are lower than those before taking the probiotics, and the results are statistically different; The fasting blood glucose level and bile acid level of elderly patients with coronary heart disease after taking probiotics decreased compared with those before taking probiotics, but there was no statistical difference; For elderly patients with coronary heart disease, adding probiotics on the basis of taking the original drugs can further improve some cardiovascular risk factors, among which the effect of LDL,total cholesterol, uric acid and other related indicators is clear.Figure [0];Table [3];Reference [91]...
