Background: Language is one of the important cognitive functions of human beings. The number of patients with motor aphasia increases year by year, which brings a lot of problems.Mirror therapy has entered the field of rehabilitation with a new method of speech rehabilitation. This experiment will be carried out against this background. Objective: This study investigated the efficacy of mirror therapy on motor aphasia after stroke in terms of self-speech,listening comprehension, retelling, naming, and aphasia quotient(AQ index),to investigate whether the mirror therapy system can help improve speech function in patients. Methods: 40 patients with motor aphasia after stroke were randomly divided into experimental group and the control group, experimental group was treated with the mirror device 5 times a week, each time 20 min,the control group only received conventional speech therapy, both groups received conventional speech therapy 5 times a week for 4 weeks.Patients in both groups were subjected to the Western aphasia tests(WAB)before and after the experiment..Results: Patients in both groups improved significantly compared with those before treatment. In the experimental group, the effect of spontaneous speech, listening comprehension, retelling, naming and AQ index was better than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: According to the test results of various scores of WAB,the results of this experiment showed that mirror therapy(mirror neuron rehabilitation training system)was effective in improving the spontaneous speech, retelling and naming of motor aphasia patients after stroke, thus significantly improving the motor aphasia patients. The mirror device system can be used for the treatment of motor aphasia after stroke.
