Background: The incidence rate of development dysplasia of the hip(DDH)in adults is about 0.9 per thousand ?3 per thousand.Because of the lack of attention to early detection and early intervention of hip joint development in the past, more and more adult dysplasia of the hip needs surgery in recent years. With the continuous development of artificial joint replacement technology and joint prosthesis materials, total hip arthroplasty(THA)has become one of the most important options. It is very difficult to treat dysplasia with THA.One is the dysplasia of acetabulum side, the abnormal development or undevelopment of its anatomical structure results in the deficiency of acetabulum bone mass and the increase of anteversion angle, which brings great difficulties to the installation of prosthesis; The other is the shortening of the femoral neck, the increase of anteversion angle, the narrower medullary cavity, the thinner bone cortex, the contracture of the peripheral soft tissue of the hip joint, and the serious deficiency of abductor muscle force, which lead to the difficulty of implantation and reduction of the femoral prosthesis. At present,S-ROM prosthesis and Wagner cone prosthesis are commonly used, but there is no clear comparison between the two prostheses in the treatment of short-term results. In this paper,S-ROM prosthesis or Wagner cone prosthesis was used to treat Crowe?-? hip dysplasia patients by THA.The short-term effect after operation was evaluated. The advantages and disadvantages of operation method and prosthesis were discussed. How to choose more accurate prosthesis for operation was discussed. Methods: From March 2016 to March 2019,17 patients with dysplasia of the hip treated by total hip arthroplasty in the First Hospital of China Medical University were selected.11 patients were treated with S-ROM and 6 patients were treated with Wagner cone. The results of the operation and the incidence of perioperative complications were analyzed retrospectively. Results: In S-ROM group, there were 12 hips in total, the average age was(59 ± 11.06),the follow-up time was 6-31 months, the average age was 14 months, the average preoperative Harris score was(43.81 ± 6.83),the last follow-up was(83.46 ± 4.86).Complications occurred in 4 hips. There were 7 hips in Wagner cone group. The average age was(50 ± 8.03)and the follow-up time was 5-27 months(17 months). The average preoperative Harris score was(48.16 ± 3.43)and the last follow-up was(81.33 ± 3.19).Complications occurred in 2 hips. There was no significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion: S-ROM prosthesis or Wagner prosthesis can be used to treat dysplasia of the hip. There is no significant difference in short-term efficacy between the two prostheses, and the short-term efficacy of the two prostheses is accurate.
