Objective:To explore the clinical value of the“double low”technology of the 2ndgeneration dual-source CT in adult with anomalous pulmonary venous connection.Materials and methods:A total of 43 cases with suspected anomalous pulmonary venous connection were divided into one“double-low”group with 21 cases and the other routine group with 22 cases randomly. The objective indicators such as CT values of the pulmonary artery, pulmonary vein, left atrium and right atrium, background noise(SD),signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)in two groups were evaluated and the subjective scores of intracardiac structure, large vessel display, pulmonary vein branch, drainage site, path display of images from the two groups were recorded and analyzed comparativly.Comprehensive evaluation of the difference of effective radiation dose(ED)and iodine intake between the two groups. All statistical analysis was performed by SPSS software(Version 20.0,IBM).The objective analysis between the two groups were compared by using the independent sample t-tests.The subjective scores of the differences in image quality between the two groups were measured by using the four-block chi-square test(?~2)or Fisher's exact test. The consistency test of the scores between the two physicians was analyzed by using the Kappa Analysis.A P value below 0.05 was considered significant. Results:The CT values between the two groups all more than 200HU,which met the images quality requirements of CTA.There was no significant difference in objective indexes(CT value,SD,SNR)between the two groups except the CT value of right atrium(t=2.08,P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the subjective scores of two sets of images(P>0.05);The subjective scores of the two doctors were in better consistent. The effective radiation dose and iodine intake in the“double low”group were significantly lower than that of the routine group, and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(t=-17.23,P<0.05;t=-17.16,P<0.05).Compared with the routine group, the effective radiation dose and the iodine intake in the“double-low”group were reduced by 68.80%and40.68%respectively.Conclusion:2nd generation dual-source CT"double low"technology:prospective ECG gating+large pitch(3.4)+low k V(100k V)+CARE Dose 4D+SAFIRE(level 3)+contrast medium(300mg I/ml+0.9ml/kg+4.0ml/s)can decrease the dose of radiation and contrast medium,it is worth of clinical application and follow-up for anomalous pulmonary venous connection in adult.
