Objective: To evaluate the effects of TEAS on the quality of sleep in patients undergoing thoracoscopic surgery. Methods: A total of 60 patients undergoing thoracoscopic surgery were selected and divided into two groups,N(TEAS)and E(Control),30 patients in group N,30 patients in group E.The Portable Sleep Monitor(PSM)was performed on the following 6 nights: the night before surgery(T0),The night of the surgery(T1),the first night after surgery(T2),the second night after surgery(T3),the third night after surgery(T4)and the sixth night after surgery(T5).Postoperative pain scores using visual analogue scoring scale, subjective sleep quality using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and PCA pump press numbers were also recorded. Results: TEAS for patients in the N Group could improve the time of sleep and a lower PQSI subjective sleep quality than patients in the E Group at T3(P < 0.05 and P < 0.05,respectively)and T4(P<0.05,respectively).Conclusion: Using TEAS can better improve postoperative sleep quality and pain in patients undergoing thoracoscopic surgery. |
